    First for everything.
Kinda I have some round that are 220 gn and leave the muzzle at almost 3400 fps which is 600 fps faster than similarly loaded 300 win mag. All depends on the load. A light load for 300 RUM is a 190 gn bullet and they fly. Typically they are either 200 or 220. It was meant to send the heavy long bullets extremely fast and be far better out to the 1 mile land.

I know nothing about this rum stuff. I'll defer to someone else about rum.

Yeah, I'd wait a while. Probably a few years.
I thought seriously about getting a 50 Beowulf upper years ago but no on those ammo prices!

For me it's not much about the expense of the round but the collector factor in me.

OMG it is so sweet! No hearing protection at all!

I put a new compensator on my 10.5" 5.56 just so I could mount my suppressor. Just one shot without the suppressor I thought, at my brother's house, no hearing protection. Holy crap! I thought I blew out an ear drum! It was PAINFUL!

Normally, on my other 5.56s running the suppressor, it's still loud but takes that sting out of the report.

Ok so the two brands Im looking at are Veranda and Bennington. Veranda has an all aluminum decking system so in theory should last forever, but Bennington is a much larger brand and should be better for resale. I don't think we will keep it long enough to need to use any kind of decking warranty so I am leaning towards a Bennington. Any thoughts on either brand?

Bennington makes some nice boats. The aluminum deck would interest me if I really wanted something long term, but if the slip and boat are covered, wood deck wouldn’t worry me as much. The seats will likely start deteriorating by the time the wood needs replacing anyway.

Boats in general as a rule of thumb are only as good as the engine you put on the back and the care they took in wiring the thing up. What you pay for from the higher end builders is typically higher end work like that and a little better products and fit and finish over the cheaper brands. It's like building something to code vs building something well above code.
I had a 19ft bass boat that did 80 it looked like that flying across the water.
