You got me thinking back about fish I lost now. Most memorable was a stingray (I think?) that I hooked from the shore on a little inlet in Virginia. Too light of tackle - 12lb test and I fought it for at least two hours back and forth on the beach till it finally got close and buried itself in the sand in a few feet of murky water. I tried to wait it out but 45 minutes later he was still not moving and I wasn’t about to try and walk up on what I thought was a stingray in murky water.

Last time I went out we ran limb lines and a trot line and caught some interesting stuff for sure. Spent an hour trying to get an unknown creature untangled from a branch 4’ underwater. Makes it a little bit more interesting when someone killed this about a mile from where we were.DB8672B0-AB64-488B-A3E2-070A29A37444.jpgLuckily it wasn’t a gator or turtle or anything. It was one of the three catfish we caught spending three days on 50 limb lines and a 50 hook trotline. Ended up catching the three catfish, two soft shell turtles, two drum and a very large eel which was quite the surprise. Made an attempt at cleaning and eating one of the soft shells and I spent close to two hours trying to carve that sucker up and I wasn’t even close to done. It tasted good but not nearly good enough to be worth that trouble.

Cut up the eel for bait because I was a bit worried about mixed reports online of their blood being poisonous. That didn’t keep my hands from getting covered in some real nasty slime though.9377061C-1DC4-4FEC-8BFC-2671456CE84B.jpg 67FB6F1D-2AB7-4F95-B4A6-EA52BE65E199.jpg

When I saw it I thought of you and another guy here @Pchop. He told us about fighting a big one offshore for a long time to have a dude screw it up at the last minute. Said dude just went and hid in the cabin after that. If he sees this I’m sure he can tell the tale a hell of allot better than I can.

Reminds me of having our shark lines cut in the keys. The yob who did janked his prop up pretty bad, since shark line is steel.... Had our flags out and everything. Gotta love people.... Lol :frusty:

My cousin caught back- to- back 17" SLAB crappies... took them to my uncle's place for safe keeping (was gonna have them mounted)... ran to our grandparent's place to get a camera and when he got back, our uncle had fileted them...

Saw one on a 4R (3rd Gen maybe? The gen with a similar front end to 2G Taco) Nabbed a pic for reference as it didn't look half bad. If I wasn't already thinking of going a different direction with the next big sum of spend it loot, I might inquire about that...

Any St Louie boys running Falcon shocks? Chatted with Axleboy people and told me to go with these. Your 2 cents. Won’t be any crawling, just periodic 4 wheeling at friends farm.

Hoping to see someone in the STL group snag it so we can watch it get put to use. Good deal to anyone none the less.

    Pizza Planet!!

4th gen is the one that's most similar to the 2nd gen Taco.

3rd gen T4R and 1st gen Taco are the other pair ( )

The main issues I have with them is that they stick out really far and there are no front recovery points.

Welcome to TacomaWorld, I’ll never claim to be an expert about this stuff but I’d recommend going with a brand that I’ve actually heard of or that can be researched to have a positive track record as to product quality and customer service. I can say that I’ve never once heard of “falcon” brand suspension parts and I’ve been reading here about all sorts of options since 2009.

For economy that you can trust to perform and have a rock solid customer service record around the globe I’d consider “Old Man Emu” brand and I’m certain that there are heaps of others in this very thread that would do the same. Cool part of Tacoma suspension parts like what you are after is that you can do it with a limited amount of tools yourself.
