Advice on Toytec coilovers.?

Ok I'm planning to buy the toytec coilovers. On their website they have them assembled for 799 and not assembled for 599. Would it be smarter to buy them assembled because I am not to familiar with assemblling them. Is it difficult to assemble them.?

 

In my opinion the Toytec coilovers arent worth the 800 bucks... its a great shock and spring. But your basically paying for the adjustability of them.
For the same price you could get the RadFlo coilovers that are valved for our trucks and are rebuildable if they do start to sag/leak, the toytec arent rebuildable if they go bad.
Just my opinion, But Im glad I didnt go with Toytec's this time.

 

Well you are correct the ToyTec coilovers are not rebuildable however the Bilstien shock carries a lifetime warranty so no need to send them back to rebuild. Just swap them out with a new shock. Seems much easier to me.

Yeah, I called toytec about that, and the warranty only covers the shocks if it leaks or goes bad prematurely. So If they just go bad from normal use, they wont just send you new shocks.
But I agree other wise and I loved my Toytec coilovers as well, and I almost baught them for my 2nd gen. but descided to go with something rebuildable.

 

Depends how hard you wheel! I really like my Toytec's but got the un-assembled ones and got them on a group buy, so paid a lot less. At $800 I would much rather save $250 more and get the Icon Extrended Travel 2.5 diameter shocks. Way better in the long run but depends if you will be using them that hard or not.

For the un-assembled ones you would need a spring compressor to assemble the top plate from your stock set-up and get them on the truck. The pre-assembled ones just bolt right up. They are $50 cheaper than the Radflow's but Radflow's are rebuildable if you wheel the piss out of them. Both are 2.0 diamater shocks with Radflow being 650lb spring and Toytec's 600lb spring. I like the 600lb spring but I'm sure Radflows are valved accordingly. I love being able to adjust my ride height anytime I want and it's easy as hell. The Toytec's will hold up to a good amount of wheeling, no worries there, and the 5100's are "maintenance free". I do wish I had a little more wheel travel since the 5100's are stock travel. I think the Icon's with UCA's will give you 10-10.5". That's a lot for mid-travel. Just something to think about!
