I like Chris of Angle of Attack; Haven't used his ground school - I went rogue and just read PHaK, AFH and online quizes. Also have heard marginal things about Sporty's - better reviews of King's, and MZeroA would probably be good. Jason is pretty personable and seems to relate concepts in a few ways. Good luck on the endeavor! Get that 182 flying and you'll already be ahead money-wise for lessons....assuming a CFI is local/available.

Missed approaches are KILLING me. Partial panel and simple stuff shorts out my brain. Back at it tomorrow....ohhhh the mental pain...lol.

Brief the approach to your copilot or out loud to yourself while your still way out. By the time you get anywhere near the MDA/DH you should already know it's a climbing left turn to 2000' to blah blah blah fix or a continue on to the ground if it's in sight.

Like crazysccrmd said.....brief, brief and, brief. Still to this day, if I’m shooting an approach that’s being advertised at minimums I’ll jot the important stuff down (faf altitude, minimums, first part of missed) on a sticky note and clip it on the yoke clip so I can take a quick glance. Not that I don’t trust my partner in crime, just want something I can glance at without having to ask.

sounds kinda like the town I lived in in AK...the fire department "HAD" to buy a ladder truck to keep up with code and whatnot to service buildings 3 stories and up. The only building in town that was 3 stories was the city hall. definitely no land shortage in AK, they could have built out not up and saved themselves the cost of the ladder truck but they needed a new toy o_O

Impressive! Tell him congrats. I don’t know what my overall AFOQT score was because I only care about the Pilot score, but on the pilot section I scored a 90/99. The quantitative section destroyed me...I nearly failed that section!
Yep, like I said I’m not mad about it. It all worked out and I can’t wait to actually use my new radio :D
Ha! Glad it happens other places too

Yeah- I do brief as far as I can ahead. Worrying about some callouts, as well as talking to tower/CTAF, and what I'm forgetting. haha...CFI said 'Your approaches are ok, briefing good...'
It's just a mental plateau I need to either jump off, or find a damn rocket to get off. Appreciate the advice and def will keep plugging away! Challenging in a 'basic' sim and an airplane I only have 15 or so hours in. Still grasping the G1000 with TOGA button and partial panel pains...but pain stimulates growth. Or so they say...
    I'll get there!

That looks horrible. I don’t have enough jackets in my closet. Today in Hunter AAF should be in the 70’s but with thunderstorms. So at least you are flying.

Thank you all for the suggestions for ground school, I'm researching all of the options and will hopefully reach a decision this weekend.

Oh, and Turbulence before Mike sold it. The head in the background is Mike.. he was mad about a helmet or something... Mark was awesome to chat with. We had lunch and BS'd about airplanes and i had a tour of Best Tugs also... was a great aviation kind of day.

Was an awesome trip... it's also when I took this pic of my former 182 in Spanish Fork... I was there to visit some of my crews at Dugway Proving Ground so I stopped in Spanish Fork to visit with the Patey's and IMSAR.

I first saw the Draco at Oshkosh 2018 and thought it was a funky thing. It wasn’t until I got home from the show that I started seeing it all over the internet. I talked to one of the Pateys, don’t remember which brother it was but I had no idea it was such a well known airplane
