Depends on what the do with Laine. He's a RFA at the end of this season so they'll either have to sign him to new deal or trade him again. And CBJ does not have a good history retaining star players.
I am definitely sad to see him go as he was a fun player to watch, not too many players have had a nicer looking shot than him.
The big winner is Roslovic. 2 years X 1.9M per, the Jets could not have afforded to give him half of that as he was never going to be a top 6 forward on that team.
I'll drink the PLD koolaid though. #1 centers do not become available very often and he won't even be the best center on the team. Jets needed some toughness and Dubois fought Crosby once so he's gotta have balls of steel LOL

Yeah Torts has a way of rubbing plenty of players the wrong way. I can't understand how he still coaches in this era.

 

He often goes out of his way to piss people off. I can't count the number of times I have seen that crazed look in his eyes and that shitty smirk on his face, even with players and coaches on opposing teams and the media, not that I am a fan of most media members.

my step-son played with Roslovic growing up...will be cool to have a home grown kid on the team...which for us in C-bus is still not a regular thing b/c we are still "young" in the grassroots development thing compared to much of the NHL

there are more than just athletic "spoiled brats" in this society currently...

I just came in from a meeting. My wife is watching the Pens- Bruins game. I asked her how the Pens are playing. She said like crap. I see they are down 2-0. It's good to have a wife who is a big hockey fan.

 

If he turns into a number one center you mean. Dub is a good player but he's not an entrenched number one center. A full time established number one would of cost more than the Jets paid.

Don't get me wrong, I like the trade, but lots of questions are still unanswered on both sides. The Jets gain a year of control and a young center but they lost a more skilled player in the deal.

 

yep...my wife was a skating coach for some of the Red Wings back in the 90's...before I knew her. She was a professional figure skater as well. She worked with Maltby for a while, and the Hatcher brothers...it is SUPER intimidating to have her come watch me shlog around at my beer league games...and probably twice as painfull for her...

her being a Red wings fan, and me being a Leafs fan also makes for lively conversation...

 

The Pens have played much better the 2nd half of this game, down 2-1 at the moment. Rask just stopped Kapanen on a break away. So close.

 

Kapanen won't be denied. He takes a sweet little pass from Malkin and while being hooked, slips a back hander past Rask.

That's some funny instigator shit I've definitely never done on the ice before....

 

Yeah I don't know much about Dubois other than his Dad is an assistant coach with the Moose, but the TSN panel seem pretty high on this guy.
I'm not even sure where he fits in. Jets have 5 guys in the top 20 points leaders and the first 2 lines are dominating, but then again anybody would look good after playing 5 games against Ottawa/Edmonton.

 

If it were up to me I'd give Muzzin the Norris just for that play alone.
I could watch any Tkachuk throw temper tantrums all day long.
