I wish ours were that easy to select. My work radio is
    1: on
    2: fucking loud
    3:that is all. Fucking loud.

I wear earplugs because of my radio.

Then you got the four types of guys that use them.

    There's the:

Holds the radio facing away from them at arms length turns their head the other way then whispers at the radio.

Most frequently the type that will get mad at you for not hearing them on the radio while you were on the golf cart doing rounds or in the machine rooms.

The second type is the ones that put the radio in their pocket and are constantly accidentally keying it up transmitting an acid house remix of keys loose change and incoherent mumbling.

The third type is the guy that apparently needs to yell quickly into their mic directly with their vocal chords by first swallowing their mic.

This guy is the one whom always seems to willingly choose the "bike mic" on the old phone extension cord clipped to their lapel.

The last and most rare of all radio carriers is the one whom actually knows how to moderate their volume on the radio when talking and speak coherently in full and well enunciated clear language.

We get these ones: guy who holds it at arms length and talks quietly, which we usually teach them how to use it properly after a couple days.

Then we have the one who's always in a rush, says half of what they wanted to say while they were keying up and before it started transmitting. So you end up having to ask them to repeat themselves since you only got the last two words.

We only have one of these guys, but it's the old timer who doesn't really understand radios, or keying them up, or leaning against them. So you inevitably have to go find him and tell him to sit up after you've been listening to static and background noise for five minutes straight.

We also have only one of these guys (thank god) who make you reflexively turn off the radio with how quick you tried to turn the volume down. Because much like yours, he gets the lapel mic good and deep in his tonsils before yelling at the top of his lungs while standing in the mouth of the chipper so you can't get a god damn clue as to what noise that was or if someone was dying.

We all have lapel mics, if we didn't we wouldn't be able to hear the radio go off due to the noisy environment of a sawmill.

Nothing yet after the intake bits came in. Did order all the wheel bearings and seals for the front and rear of my midget.

Hopefully it'll be back on the ground and rolling around this weekend. Still waiting on the engine shop to call and tell me the engine is done.
