As long as you tell Firestone what they're working with and what numbers you're shooting for they do a pretty good job. At least that's my experience with SPCs and Blue Springs Firestone.

I've heard this about Firestones here as well.

 

Yeah I just tell them I'm shooting for positive Caster and they stop trying to fight it like the first time. The first time they were like "we maxed out your cams but we couldn't get rid of the caster"...

 

Hey Guys, I just moved to Kansas City from Boston. On the way out I hit a deer and need a new front end, anyone have any bodyshop recomendations? maybe looking to throw a steel bumper on instead. Thanks

Thanks! I actually don't have pics yet, ill have to get some tomorrow. it wasn't too bad though, it looked like the deer ducked before I hit it so it broke the bumper and took out my driver side fog light with some other minor cracks on the grill bezel. it did manage to surprisingly bend my TRD skid plate as well so ill probably be looking at some new bottom armor.

dang that sucks but at least it dosent sound awful you might be able to just get a new steel bumper (if thats the route you want to go) and not worry about the rest

I unfortunately don't have the means out here to do the install of a steel bumper myself so I will need a shop. has anyone in the area had any experience with shop that would be up to doing bumper install?

 

you dont need a shop to install a bumper for you there are a lot of local guys/gals out here that would be willing to lend a hand! nothing worse then spending 1k on a bumper then having a shop screw you over on the install cost when its something easily done in a few hours.


stay away from adventure motors they price stuff stupid high! one of my local buddies got a quote for a basic lift on his 1st gen tacoma and they wanted to charge him close to 4k! for lift and install

 

too bad its a 3rd gen. I have my front sitting in the garage off my 2nd gen that needs a new home.

 

im sure we have enough duct tape and zip ties lying around lol
