TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I've done a few of those. They are fun (not really) the way they build them are ridiculous just to assemble a complete positive to negative circuit. Lol.

 

These ones are parallel and series. They are using that method to up the capacity and range for the hybrid drive.

 

Sounds about right. So it is basically one giant super HEAVY unit.

I am on the same tire size and did 4.88's. Too low if you like to drive 80. But great if you tow or love to get to 60 quick. Also really helps toting around a 6200lb truck. But will go to 35's next tire purchase. Have even debated 37's in my head since I won't be towing anymore. Or have told myself that I was going to stop. Wish I knew if it really was the towing that was taking out the rear end or not. Hopefully it was that and not the tire size and power issue on the tiny ring gear.

 

def hard to tell. my rear is toast and never did any towing. 4.56 and 315's. Like most comment if its heavy, big tires, power we need stronger rears no matter how we slice it.

 

Yup. It was weird flying across a few states in 2020 - even with a $31 one-way flight from Colorado!

I feel the effort to go from my 34s to a 35 is not much different than going to a 37.
May end up with more busted CVs though.
A lot of that work is for width not height and I have been eyeballing the new toyo at3 in 35x11.50r17 C load. I'll see where the new gears put me first.
A tundra axle with a 6 lug conversion doesn't look too difficult.

I’m just waiting to drop pics of the latest Gen Magnuson 440hp blower for the JT once it shows up. Should pair nicely with the 8spd.

 

I’m running the new AT3s in that size specifically for their relatively light weight. They hum more than the KO2s or Wildpeaks on the highway, and the sidewall isn’t as aggressive as some of the manufacture photos, but so far no regrets.

 

Yah the tundra axle looking mighty good right now. I have been considering a C range or a 10.5 35 after these. They are greet but super heave BFG KM3’s

Multiplied by 4. Rule of thumb as an approximate generalization in my vehicle design program for vehicle performance impact was 1lb rotational weight = 4x static weight. In other words 20lbs rotation weight (5lbs x 4) is equivalent to adding 80lbs of static weight.
