Removing an old Alarm System

When I bought my truck it had a viper alarm system on it that is old and I absolutely hate it. Does anyone have any recommended systems to go to? Or is it possible to just go back to a stock key fob. I know nothing about these systems so anything helps!

 

Does your truck have the flashing key light on the dash?
If so, the key should have a transponder chip in it.

That won’t keep anyone from breaking into the truck.
But it will still make it harder for them still the truck.

To be honest, I don’t think many thieves are deterred by an alarm system.
The majority are smash and grab.

 

Yeah I have the transponder. And I figure if someone wants to steal the truck they're going to do it alarm system or not.
