I started from full soft and went up in 7 click increments since its 28 clicks stop to stop. this gives you a good idea of what adding 25% more would do, then when you hit your zone, just back it off a click or two or add a click or two. I am currently at 7 clicks from soft and its amazing for road, with a 150ish pound load and rxt leafs in the rear.

Yes, start at the softest setting and go up from there.

Sub’d. dropping mine off on the 9th for:
    - King OEM performance series front 25001-119
    - King OEM performance series rear shocks 25001-121
    - AAL (for now)
    - diff drop
    - body chop
    - 285/75r16 AT3s

will report back with measurements and pics. So it’s my understanding that preload and all the varying settings have nothing to do with me because they’re not adjustable. Is that correct? Very new plz b kind.

Your preload is adjustable by cranking down the spring collar, however, king says they’re good to go from the box, over preloading will cause a shock to top out on a big hit. Other then that if you don’t have compression dials then that’s it.

@AccuTune Offroad in an earlier post in this thread you said the recommended psi in the King reservoirs is 150-200 psi and that when Accutune custom tunes the shocks you charge to 200 psi. I just want to make sure that is still the case. Thanks.

Anyone have any inside info on how long Kings manufacturing/distro is going to be backed up?

I am, no issues at all. I also ran the last truck for 100k mikes with no sway bar on various lifts, all with 600lb coils.

Anyone have issues with taco lean with kings? I have left coil over set 2 threads more and still have a lean of about 1/4-1/2 inch on driver side.

It’s not an issue with kings, it will lean with all shocks. Don’t go by thread count:

1/8” of thread = approx 1/4” lift, so back off the collar on the passenger side (rather than continuing to preload driver side) until you achieve a 1/8” Delta between the two shocks.

Kings should be set at 150psi if Nitrogen fully extended. Fox is 200 psi

Sorry I didn’t mean it literally was kings problem. I meant that even after the fact of preloading driver side more I still was having a lean issue with my kings installed.

I was thinking about getting adjustables on the front coils because I figured if I firmed them up on the road it would compensate for no sway bar. What are you thought on that?

I’m not completely sure what you’re asking (one of the shortcomings of digital communication) but I think you mean replacing your stock shocks with adjustable coil overs? I’ve run 4 different sets of COs, all were firm enough to compensate. IFS in general allows you to get away with no sway bar as compared to a straight axle.

Sorry about that let me be more specific. I'm going to buy a set of Kings (front) with remote reservoirs. I'm wondering if it would be worth getting the reservoirs with the adjusters? I'd like to run without a sway bar all the time so I thought the adjusters might be useful for compensating for body role if I turned the knob all the way to firm when on the road.

Adjusters wont do a tremendous amount to help with body roll. Valving a shock to be remove body roll would result in a very stiff shock. Sways bars are extremely beneficial to handling and really should not be removed.

Respectfully disagree about the sway bar, from personal experience only. I drove my 2007 for 100k miles with no sway bar Coast to Coast, no dangerous issues, just slow down around corners. I have now removed the sway bar from my 2021 on King Ext Travel, Ext reservoirs and TC uppers and experience zero concerning body roll on the freeway or on mountain roads. On and off road, your suspension is significantly limited by the sway bar. I am very comfortable without it, others may not be, but to say it shouldn’t be removed or it’s dangerous is an overstatement. I understand the liability you assume as a vendor/builder, but I also think you know the real world applicability of removing it on the trails.

To answer the question about ext res clickers, they only stiffen the shock from the baseline which conceptually could help with body roll. I don’t feel it is necessary or worth the money, nor do tech reps from various suppliers whom I’ve consulted.

What spring rate are you running on those?

100% Those with experience can adjust to the body roll a truck can have without a sway bar. Not saying its impossible or not safe, just not something we recommend. Most will do just fine off-road with a sway bar. Some want that extra flex, but risk the street performance.

All a preference from the driver behind the wheel :headbang:

Fox DSC adjusters vs King adjusters are very different. If you are wanting the best performance and tune-ability, Fox DSC is the way to go.
