    Hi all.
When I was swapping suspension components a few weeks ago I accidentally stretched my ABS wire and ruined it. RF wire on a 2013 DCSB TRDOR.
So I ordered a new part 89516-04090 online and was expecting it soon so I could swap wires and get rid of my ABS light. My order didn't have any progress on it for 2 weeks so I gave a call today. The guy at the parts counter said that Toyota corporate isn't releasing these for parts orders without them checking in. He said something about them needing this part for frame recalls.
Has anyone heard of this? Or is it BS I'm getting because they screwed up my order?

It's only a couple bucks more of
It's only a couple bucks more for OEM. So I'll probably stick with that if they can get it. They asked me to check back in on Friday. If they keep me waiting, I'll consider that part from rock auto.

This is one of those things I wouldn’t hesitate to buy aftermarket, and I speak from experience. It’s nothing special, just two unnecessarily thin wires. I had the same issue on a friends truck, so we snipped off the connectors, soldered in new wire and it’s still good, years later. I also have torn my wires while off-road and put in an aftermarket harness, no issues. Just my unsolicited input into your problem.

I agree that oem is best but if it’s too much of a hassle, I wouldn’t stress going with an aftermarket option for aforementioned reasons.

Makes sense. If we're not here for unsolicited opinions, then what are we doing here?

Some dealerships do that and ask for your VIN before they allow an order. I recently broke my wire last month and just ordered on Amazon from whatever dealership had it posted.
