It’s nuts. Quickly realizing that even if a house becomes available that checks most of the boxes not only will it be priced at a premium but we’ll likely pay over that high list and we’ll end up settling on some stuff because the pickings are slim.

With that in mind no reason not to build even if the cost of materials is high. Shit, cost of existing homes is high, at least I can call my shot on what’s in the house...

I was saying weeks ago on this thread, 7 years ago when we bought the house that we just sold I gave our realtor a list of things we wanted in a house. The next day she took us to 10 houses that fit the list.

I gave my current realtor a similar list in November and I’m sure it was all he could do not to laugh in my face.

 

I follow Matt Risinger and Jake Bruton. I don’t know that I could have a house not built by one of them at this point. My expectations are FAR too high for a GC.
