I like my Extang Trifecta. It is the canvas tri-fold type.

Since you have some experience, what you would you recommend on a long bed. I use 100% of the bed all the time.

But for trips, it would be nice to have a soft cover on (water proof not an issue).... so luggage and things dont fly off and out of prying eyes.

    Thanks

I like how the factory cover pieces bolt in to inserts already installed on the bed rails. No drilling, clamping, or adjusting like aftermarket covers. I literally removed my bed rails to swap, bolted on the 7 pieces, installed the trim pieces, reinstalled the swapped rails, and dropped the cover into place. It fit perfectly the first time with zero adjustment.

This is all I have for a picture right now. I don't have one with it rolled up yet. I got the Lo-Pro for about $400 I think.

I just installed a Tonnopro Lo-Roll tonight. Had one on my Silverado for 3 years and gave it to a co-worker. He still uses it 6 years later from when I bought it.

The new one I put on tonight is better than that old one and is exactly what I wanted and needed. Cheap, super low profile, and works well.

Yes it is a roll up. It rolls all the way up to the window and has two straps that secure it in place.

Talk to luke at truckalterations. He can get you an access for under $400 shipped. I had one on my last taco and loved it. Was about to order another one when I stumbled on a killer deal on a BAK revolver x4. It's not a bad setup, but I definitely wouldn't want to pay full price for it.

When I started shopping I thought I was going to get a soft shell. I ended up with the Diamondback, not cheap nor easy to take on and off, but really well made and super secure.

Here you go. The tracks on either side have three brackets each that secure to the T-track rails. There are a few weatherstripping pieces that come with the kit as well. Pretty easy install considering I’d never done it before. I added some of my own weatherstrip pieces around the ends of the tracks near the tailgate, but it stays pretty dry unless it’s really windy/rainy at highway speeds, then just some small drops here and there. I have a bed mat so any drips go under that. Let me know if You have any further questions.

    Check build thread!
I personally went with the bakflip mx4. I mean, haven't got my truck yet (hopefully picking up tommorow) but it sure looks nice in my garage.

I’d like to get the roll up, I need all of the bed.
Can you still use your bed rails??

The OEM one is removable with one 12mm bolt. If you are using it only for trips it would not take 5 minutes to put back on. From what I understand they are frequently for sale on the used market. Just be sure the purchase includes swapping the bed rails with the seller.
