Do you clean your blades once in a while? There is a lot of abrasive soil that collects on the rubber. I clean them everytime i wash my truck, which is once a week and my blades last for 4-5 years easy.

I have the original 3 year old blades on my truck and they are still like new.

Wow. I’m reading this information about OEM refills the day after throwing away my OEM wipers. You live and you learn I guess

Truck gets a bath every week and I wipe the blades and windshield by hand. Insert isn’t cracked or showing signs of wear either. My drivers side is fine, just my passenger side is worthless

Big problem i had was they when tested these various blades in the rain it was at rest. I would of like to have seen how they perform with a vehicle in motion, like at highway speeds.

Well no shit... Ive never heard of replacing just the wiper insert itself.

Those of you who do, do you happen to have any close up pictures of the insert you could post? Im curious if this would work with an aftermarket RainX blade 'chassis' I guess we'll call it. Clearly the OEM ones are long gone from my truck

On side of the wiper there will be a retaining feature. Like a snap ramp. You just pull and the wiper slides out.

    A couple examples:

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Right - Pylon Manufacturing Corporation borrowed/bought the BF Goodrich name to put on a VERY expensive wiper blade. Must make them fantastic!

Same here. My blades used to last longer. I would clean them during every fill up. It bothers me a bit that Costco doesn't have squeegees at the pumps, but the savings there are worth it.

Plus the fact that (The YouTube video) ... They were squirting water at the windshield with a friggin garden hose... Set on 'blast mode' like you're cleaning dirt off the sidewalk or something. Not real life.
If it was something like using a spray head that that covers a wide area (Like spraying flowers in the garden) I think the results would be a lot different.
My personal preference ... And I live where there is a lot of snow/ice for 3-4 months ... My personal preference is, ANY kind of Beam Blade. Reason being, they can't get deformed like a frame type blade that gets clogged with ice.
I bought the Bosh blades recently to replace the blades on 4 different rigs here at home. Rock Auto was pretty cheap on those blades (I refuse to spend $40.00 on a pair of wiper blades) and they've all been working like champs so far.
My Taco is still too new to think about it yet.. But when the time comes, the wiper blades will be replaced with beam blades.

LOL! I always save those little packets of 'finger wipes" that you get at certain places ... Especially at a fried chicken place..
Basically a small paper fabric that's soaking in rubbing alcohol ... But they work great for cleaning the blades with.
My wife always makes fun of me for that ... But I'm cheap also... LOL!

    Check build thread!
I personally love Rain-x on the window, coupled with a Rain-X blade. Living in constant snow (just got 2 feet) and sleet, rain, mud etc... this has worked best for me.
