As posted in the other thread:

I'm in on this gamble (clarification: GME short squeeze) with a small position (5k or so) at about 300/share for funsies. If he dies, he dies.

The internet lost it's fucking mind when all the Apex-Clearing backed brokers locked down opening new positions in the short-fighting meme stocks.

This is a great example of why you should only be dicking around with high risk plays using what you won't miss if it goes to $0. High risk shit goes sideways for the retail investor far more often than it pays off.

Also, shout out to Vanguard, owned by the shareholders of its funds, for absolutely zero trickery or BS through this whole thing.

P.S. if any of the rest of you are retarded enough to ride this ride, don't forget about short term cap gains taxes.

6.83 Average here, could buy more but I'd rather not risk more, already took the L on AMC and another big loss on a SNDL day trade...

    GME is still holding strong.
If there was no blockages from certain brokerages in allowing to buy, it would have been up a whole lot more.

As in, financial-system-breaking pension-fund-fucking high. And it might still happen, depending on how much of retail has the nuts to hold through this and wait until it's a free for all again.

This is going to result in regulation that gets written into FinClass Textbooks, like Glass-Steagall or Sarbanes-Oxley and the like.

Yep, wasn't worth risking another 50% loss, for a 10-25% gain

Basically just accepted the loss of yesterdays profits

Holding AMC into tomorrow since the morning rush and overnight anticipation tend to get people going.

Lol CNBC eh? Who do you think they want to win? I am very politically neutral but it’s a fact they are on the side of hedgefunds etc.

    Here’s a quote for you:
    • short interest: 100% of float by Ortex, 123.25% of float by S3 Shortsight

Keep in mind why a lot of us are in this. Sure I want to make a buck, but this is history- these are the same shitheads that brought us into the mess that was 2008. Tomorrow is gonna be very interesting. I’m on team HODL cause fuck these guys and everything they have done in the past AND today.

I don't think that's 100% true. I don't think either of them are out yet. There wasn't enough movement for that to be true. They just handed off the shorts to Citadel. Who knows though!

Not necessarily. Short sold positions have no expiration date. The only pressure to sell is the interest due on the loaned shares, and of course if the liability gets sky high your broker may margin call you. The fact that hedge funds, entities with basically more money than any non-governmental party on the planet, are at risk for this is both hilarious and terrifying.

The squeeze may not get squoze until next week. There will be a hell of a Gamma squeeze tomorrow though when something like 20mil shares of GME have to be bought on open market to satisfy both weekly and monthly calls expiring. It *may* trigger the short squeeze, it may not.

Not certain. Short to float ratio is largely unchanged, although this could be because Melvin and Citron exited and were replaced by shorts sold at higher price points. Edited to add: However, level 2 data on volume suggests this is unlikely, because there has not been a ton of volume in short coverage.

Regardless, there are *still* more shorts that must be covered than shares of GME in existence, and thus at some point, when the stars align, supply is guaranteed to exceed demand and the price will spike. Which funds will be paying the piper exactly is not known but also, as I see it, moot.

Short interest is still over 100%. They are trying to scare us just like how they stopped buying on all these platforms ALL day today. They are feeding us shit cause they think we’re shit.

Oh, yeah - there's a ton of shorts, I just think Citron and Melvin were smaller than the rest of all the other institutions who also hold it. Melvin and Citron have just been the most brought up players.

Probably. If they were smart they would have closed their shorts and then bought shares

No, but puts do and there's a ton expiring tomorrow.
