    I had a buddy who used to work at UPS. He told me these guys have deadlines that are so ridiculous that the employees are basically grabbing boxes and literally throwing them into the trucks in the mornings. It's horrible.

    Mm... I want to try that but at the same time I also want to do my install of it trouble free on Thursday. Lol.

    I'm in a position where I can't do the work myself due to some very recent physical limitations so I want the person who will be installing it not have to go back in there nor change the install date as he is really busy, but would be more than happy to be a test mule if I had a secondary spare bracket handy or something.

    It's not the overall structure that concerns me. It's the mounting tangs on the inside that I'm referring to that bolts to the fan assemblies single studs. If you take one of those arns and mount it to the fan you should try and see how much force it takes to snap the mounting tangs off. Once they are hot as well, because you know they will get hot they may become more pliable and more easily influenced to bending or breakage and up and down jarring motions which comes inherent to wheeling.

    That was my concern as well. These weren’t cheap but glad I went this route.

    Well I can't break that tab by hand. Or in a vice without a hammer. The tab is solid piece no internal structure.

    I know ppl have question the harness and gutting it but I left it so a customer could use or modify as they seemed fit. Didn't want to pigeon hole them to just my setup.

    That was my also as when I initially had it set up on the shroud there was deflection in both directions that the fan assy could move. Utilizing the gm fan mount there was zero deflection, overall still happy with the OP’s product.

    That's comforting to know actually. To improve on the setup I would recommend you use something to unify the 3 pieces to give it more structural rigidity. That's at least, what I recommend. If you do wind up doing something like that please keep the myself and the initial group buy guys updated. I like the MESO setup, and I like the integration your set up has. Definitely a lot of quality, it just leaves us to some worry on how well it would stand up to abuse like wheeling over time.

    Thank you for all of your efforts to bring us this John! It is people like you who continue to propel the forum forward in a positive way while providing factual real world improving results to our junks!

    Hey @Deo taco one question I kept forgetting to ask since we have been on the general topic. How does the fan or fan controller detect high speed highway cutoff? I'm sure the fan actually does move more air than the highway is capable of pushing at those speeds based on the size and the power this thing is capable of, but regardless it would be economical if it did actually kill the fan at high speeds.

    Any insight on that?

    Good question but isn't the fan speed controlled by temperature? So if on the highway and temperature is low, will the speed be less?
    Or since on the highway should it be even less than normal?
    Not sure how the fan speed could be linked to vehicle speed without some ECU communications, this is interesting but way beyond my knowledge.

    Grab the linear "Analog Out Signal" (blue) from the Lingenfelter, program (page 6 of LF manual) it to speed based (as opposed to the default temperature based) and send the signal to a voltmeter that has a range that includes 0 - 5V. The reading of the voltmeter multiplied by 20 is the command speed of the fan: 0V = 0%; 0.75V = 15%; 2.00V = 40%; 5.0V = 100%.

    The corresponding temperature to the fan speed can be read by your ODB2 device.

    it does not. but all cars have the fan running on the highway. the fan will get slower due to the temp being lower but having a fan evacuate the air is better then nothing

    So now that i have ran this kit with the CSF radiator for a few days. I was a little surprised to find the truck is running hotter at idle. Normal driving it will vary between 185- 200 but when i stop a long signal or sitting in a drive thru it heated up to 204! I thought this setup would keep the truck a little cooler at idle was that wrong of me to assume? The weather is very cool for Socal right now i am wondering what it will do in summer temps 100*+ outside while at idle. This Fan does sound like a jet engine winding down when you shut it off!

    Same here thought it would run cooler, I was 200* at idle.

    I am going to run the AC while driving and while sitting at signals and drive thru to see if it gets hotter or if it changes at all. I have not had the AC on at all since installing its been to cold!

    If it stopped at 200 that would be probably ok but mine crept up to 204 felt like it was going to keep going up, just after a 3-5 minutes at a drive thru. I revved the motor to about 2000 rpm and the temp dropped down to 190 fairly quick but when i let off the pedal it climbed back up.

    As mentioned in the OP’s other thread, I reset the starting temp on the Lingenfelter to 130* but haven’t drove the truck yet to see if there’s a difference :fingerscrossed:
