Anything welding

It's hit or miss depending on state/county. Judging by the aluminum ground wire, and the age of the breakers though he should win in a case against the insurance if they do say something. Unless of course he tells them he did it.

 

I wonder if another circuit was added the owner did not have the extra breaker since having lots of room in the box .

Never installed it right or just forgot I can relate to forgetting as long as things are working.

 

well thanks for pointing that out didn’t even notice it, gonna have to take care of it because it will drive me nuts now. I’m not sure of the codes, I do know it was gone over by an inspector though, some are more thorough than others though. The guy that put it in slapped his stickers on the boxes but god knows how long ago that was and what the previous owner did to it.

 

I just proud enough of myself to know what a "marette" is.

Well I unexpectedly upgraded my mig today.

 

Also used my electromagnetic grinding pad for the first time today. Super nice for flat parts.

Simple solution is swap that breaker for a tandem breaker such as this: Eaton CH 2-20 Amp 1-Pole Tandem Circuit Breaker-CHT2020 - The Home Depot

Takes up just the one spot and each wire has its own breaker. Double check you're replacing 20amp with 20amp, or 15amp with 15amp.

So, what say y'all about building receiver hitches into bumpers? I'm needing to put together something for the rear end of this thing. I figure either I can reuse the existing hitch by getting new plates made that connect the ends to the frame but don't drop down like the oem ones. Or, I could save some weight and departure angle by just integrating a receiver into the new bumper.

I did some rough numbers and it seems like I'd have to fuck up the design pretty bad to have a failure with the small amount this truck is rated for, but I'm still chewing on it.

If you notched the bumper you could weld it on 8 sides and for a class II I think it would be fine. I'd not pull a car trailer or bull dozer with it...lol

Yeah, that is true. The more I think about it, getting the receiver itself stuck to the bumper is the easy part. I need to sit down and draw up some ideas for connecting the bumper to the frame.

 

Give me a hour or so and I'll sketch it up. Not done this before here but we'll blow the place up..LOL

So far connecting it to the truck frame is easy, its mostly just a flat plate bolted to the frame. At the other end, its either a butt weld to the bumper, or a reinforcement welded intside the bumper that its then bolted to, or there's a bend in the plate and then thats bolted to the bumper. Butt weld seems like the worst plan.
