Amazon jackpot

I ordered two pairs of 50" Bessey parallel clamps. They are supposed to come with three pads on each clamp. Two of them had only two pads. Contacted the seller expecting them to ship me a pair of pads ~$10. They shipped a new set of clamps (~$110) and told me to keep the existing ones. I was quite pleased with the results!

 

We buy a LOT on Amazon- the last couple of years we keep getting packages for the same house number with a similar street name.
It is in a different zip code and about 15 miles away. Every time it has been an actual Amazon truck delivering.
We've tried several times to give the stuff back but Amazon makes it hard to do.
The really funny part is several times an item arrives then apparently the intended customer complains they didn't get ther shipment so Amazon leaves ANOTHER one of the same thing at my house!
Sadly it is never something we need or want- screen protectors for phones we don't have, kids toys (my kids are in their 30's)

 

Maybe one of these days they’ll leave something you can actually use!

Especially something like a bumper, which usually has a lead time and isn’t just sitting around in a warehouse collecting dust

I bought a DeWalt air compressor from Amazon and it arrived way late. Amazon shipped it via a carrier that didn't have a terminal close to me so they turned it over to another carrier. Amazon lied to me twice as to when it would arrive but that was OK, they discounted it $400 by the time it arrived. Would buy again.

Pro-tip: anytime you're shopping online, check walmart online. You can usually buy direct from Walmart (not any of the random sellers that sell through them as well) for significantly cheaper, or you can usually price match using their prices to buy from the vendor you want.

Bought a Camp Chef Yukon for $125 direct from walmart, same day pickup, when it costs $200+ everywhere else. Also pricematched my tires to get each one about $30 cheaper.

 

Yea, I was amazed as every rep I spoke to offered me a discount for my troubles. First one gave me $175 if I remember correctly.

 

Had the same experience with coffee from Amazon. Ordered a 3lb tin of coffee, got 6 lbs. Checked the order, and they only charged for one. Score.

 

It appears to be a pattern for Amazon coffee!

 

How long ago was that? I ask because I used to get free one month Prime extensions when they screwed up- which was often when they ship via USPS.
Last year or so I can't get anything from them in the way of a compensatory apology.
I sure wish they'd let customers select the shipper- I'd gladly pay the difference to get UPS or Fedex. Their screw up rate is about 1% of the post office's.

 

If I remember correctly (doubtful at best) it was about 3 years ago.

 

I purchased a dishwasher from Sams.com. They couldn't get an installer out to us and had it on the way to my door. They worked hard to intercept the order, give us a refund and then gave us $200 in Sam's Club credit! We were able to buy from a Mom n Pop shop who had a better version available for $50 less! God gave us a nice gift.
