Wouldn't the fbi have to by bullets from somewhere? Haven't they been bying them 4 ever? If it wasn't federal it'd be somewhere else. I thinks it all a wash.

 

You miss the point. When DOJ or DHS go out of the normal acquisition system to the civilian marketplace, the result is always a consumer shortage. Add that on top of an already over pressured consumer market place and now you extend the availability problem for the average consumer, and prices remain at ridiculous levels.

JB, to your point you are correct, but when an organization the size of DOJ commits an open ended contract to a system that is already over a billion dollars behind in production, you end up with a situation similar to the DHS buy of 1.6billion rounds back in 2013. Add into that fact are the millions of new consumers as a result of the various factors of leadership and pandemic in 2020, and you now have the perfect storm for manufacturers. It was three years before the market stabilized post 2013. How long do you think it will be this time?

 

Anybody have any experiences with foxtrot mike 9mm? I was eyeing some at a local store here in ct and really liked it. I initially went because they posted about having cuz scorpions but were out already. I’m trying to decide if I should go with an fm9 for $1300 or just test my luck waiting for a scorpion which tends to go for right around 1800 here

 

I'm leaning in this direction. I was buying during 2013 and this is way worse, with my, now friends, in distribution saying this is a first for them.

I'm not expecting normalization for years, if ever. I think that 2018/2019 boat had sailed and we'll never see it that good again, especially with inflation.

 

When was that? Firearms have exploded in price and plummeted in stock over the last year. If I could get it for 6-700 I’d pick it up instantly
