I am going with a roll up today. Did some research on Access vs Truxedo.

I am going with TruXedo Lo Pro. It will be my first one

You won't be disappointed. Take your time and read the instructions. I didn't at first and had to undo some stuff to correct missed steps. Make sure you get those corners at the the cab end of the bed sealed pretty good. That's where water will get in if it does.

Thank you. Paid. Dealer said it will be here on Tuesday. You have given me the confidence I can do this by myself. If I can't, you will hear about it :D I will read the whole directions and try it. Be my first time!

Sadly with 8 days of rain a year - water test maybe inaccurate here

    ^^ This^^

When I had mine initially installed, my truck accessory guy used some of that butyl putty in the corners.

Good choice. Those are nice as well. Lay everything out, check fitment and go for it! Pics are required after you get it installed :D

I have it as well and am happy with it. But not much time on it, did notice the seal is not as good if you shut the gate after lowering the cover.

When I first got on this board I read the tips section, which stated that you should close the tailgate first and when you put the last section of the tonneau down, press it until it "clicks." It was sound advice, as I have had no problems.

I have to do the same. It's just by design, otherwise it would be a vulnerable spot for water to get in.

I'll second Access Roll up. They're inexpensive, pretty easy to install, look good, keep the bed mostly dry and mine has held up pretty well to Colorado snow and sun un-garaged over the last few years.

Access is a great company with amazing products that have been around a long time. Bonus is they are one of the few small privately owned companies left in this industry.

They seem to do continuous improvement also...I see lots of little improvements whenever I see a newer cover.

Thanks for that tidbit about Access. I wasn't aware and prefer doing business with these types of companies, but will admit I'm somewhat of a cheap bastard at times :anonymous:

I have a roll up top and have really enjoyed it. Access Larado I believe. That being said it has been 6 years and still has life left, but I am ready to move on. There is a slight stitching error I believe next to the cab and it doesn't always lay completely flat, I have not heard anyone else with this issue.

I am now torn between a shell (probably just a dream as a new one I just can't justify), or as many others have done the trifold Lomax. What I really like about the Lomax is it is aluminum (more secure), lays super flat (looks awesome), and like others I haul a few motorbikes and the roll up cover gets slightly in the way of the tires. I've had a few instances where i had to ratchet something to the front and it puts stress on the cover and bracket.

The lomax is 100% removable and you have full access to the bed. From what I have seen, if needed to be taken off it can be placed in the rear cab. I have yet to verify this.

Considering the BAKFlip MX4 for my 2021 DCOR. Anyone oppose this cover?
