@OVTune, you're doing some damn fine work for us. It's easy for us to want to lament about what's missing and overlooking all that we have, myself included. I don't know much about engines but I'm able to pickup on forum help (here and yours) and combine that with your program and get results. I ain't trying to kiss ass but you don't get enough appreciation. I'm assuming you've had to reverse engineer at a very, very basic level of programming (I remember you mentioning Assembly) and a little bit of my brain died inside when I heard that. I do not envy you but wish you continued success as you continue to map this frontier for us.

Your gun analogy is a good point and you made me realize that I need to do even more learning. Already had, and now I know that a torque converter is a thing, but I need to keep learning. That said, the UI/UX of the program could use some work. Undo/Redo, more thorough info for table/field names, floating point comparison issues, consistent and accurate table naming conventions, and a more consistent adoption of Windows features (mostly I mean Ctrl+W to be able to close the active window. This would be money for when you're doing comparisons and want to close all the compared table windows). I know you've got some of this on your radar already. I've seen a few of those mentioned in forums but wanted to throw the rest out there.

89 percent is the physical limit of the throttle.
Think of it like degrees. At 90 degrees the throttle is perfectly horizontal.

It's limited to 89 so there isn't any chance the spring that snaps it closed doesn't bind.

Thank you, we are taking all feedback and implementing things based offof it for sure.

CTRL+W I can ask my dev about for sure.

Thank you, as a keyboard jockey this would be a significant ease of use improvement! Great suggestion @CAG Gonzo !!

WTF is going on in this forum?!?! I’m over here trying to get OVTuned and all I’m hearing about is a guy named Matt. I see frustrated replies from what appears to be a rep for OVTune and quite frankly the company sounds like it’s days from being nonexistent. Should I even purchase this product anymore. WHO THE F%^k IS MATT?

Mat, me, is the owner of OVTUNE and VF Tuner.

we are not days from being non existent. We are just fighting a bit of piracy. It will get cleared up and taken care of. There are just some things being delayed because of it (software training materials, some patches, etc).

The throttle position sensor is only 32 @accelerator 51.
Any ideas how to close the gap between these 2 and the plate?
And I did look at Help button on all airload tables.....

Check that the 2D throttle to accelerator angle tables aren't limiting you. That's first place to check.

Second is the 3D 32d torque split throttle table.

Also remember that part of throttle control is *code* not tables. Toyota's intelligent throttle control.

Having exact 1:1 is not a good idea in my opinion.

Interesting update on my Mild + Wild @Mooseditty17 tune installed by @DownhillDragon

Truck is a 2021 TRD Off Road with AT. It's all stock other than a set of 16x7.5" wheels and 265/75/16 Duratracs. No weight has been aded. Before the tune, I averaged 19.1mpg on three or four tanks.

After the tune, I got all of the great benefits with two growingly annoying side effects:

    1. The truck is lazy to upshift once cruise speed is met.
    2. Gas mileage over five or six tanks has degraded to 15.0 mpg if I take it easy on the throttle and can be as bad as around 13.8 or so if I have fun.

Anyway, I stopped for gas a couple of days ago and all that was available was 93-octane. I filled up curious how it would do on higher octane fuel. I've now gone through that tank and while the lazy upshifting is still there, my gas mileage improved to 17.6 mpg over the tank.... same kind of driving and no other changes...

I'm considering going back to stock. Even with the tune, it's not like the thing is fast... And I never expected my Tacoma to be a hot rod... So the fuel economy is hard to justify... The only thing is, I hate the way the stock tuned transmission handles itself on the highway...

I'm not expecting 1:1. I just want to see if i can a get a bit more opening. It seems I have a % of load to work with in my specific conditions
Are you referring to airload Control and Expected?

Wow, that's a big hit. I cannot imagine how I would have to drive to see <16mpg but every truck is different. I know my mpg took a hit with cold and perhaps winter blend(?) but I am still 18+. Is that wheel/tire setup a Fred Flintstones replica? After running my own tune with influences certainly from M+W I would not expect it so low after running a few tanks full. Anyone else have that MPG shocker?

You can always make adjustments to the tip in, Airload tables for economy, and shift points so it's not holding too long before an upshift.

I get as low as 13 on some trips, but I'm driving like an ass. My commute to work is 70% hwy, and I go through a couple of towns. 18+ every time. 33s, 3" lift and a steel front bumper. 87 octane.

@DownhillDragon - is this something we could pull off? Or is there another tune possibly that might work better for me?

@Mooseditty17 Would love to get you involved.

I posted this earlier and no one responded ... He makes it looks like A) he works for OvTune/VfTune and B) like you’re purchasing the software... Pretty fishy and seems deceitful. I also heard people tried to ask questions about stuff and he basically had no clue how to answer which is scary. Plus how is he selling 4runner tunes? I thought they were in dev?

The motto all along with vf has been we can share members edited tunes which makes it way more fun IMO which was part of the reason I got it in the first place, plus the ability to make some $ back on the investment through buying credits and unlocking different ECU’s to tweak. But taking the logo and selling it as your own seems like the definition of piracy.

There’s also a dude on FB with the name of “Chan Chan” who has been using the logo, I think he may have stopped using it though.
