Yeah, everything works fine.

I guess what I'm trying to find out is if it's my internet that's not good, or the iptv service that has issues.

The iptv service app is downloaded on an android box, not the actual TV. Then the box is connected to the Wi-Fi extender via the 5 GHz signal. And in turn the Wi-Fi extender is connected to the main wireless router.

I have everything in the house connected to the Wi-Fi extender, not the main router. Cell phones laptops, kids tablets, Fire tv in the bedroom, etc. But they're not all on and streaming stuff at the same time though.

All good. But yeah, everything I have is connected to the Wi-Fi extender.

What I'm trying to find out is if that's the right thing to do, or the wrong thing to do, in order to get the best out of the Wi-Fi signal for everything.

 

Ok, try running a speed test while connected to the extender and see what numbers you're pulling from it. If they're low, try connecting to the main router and see if they improve. Basically trying to rule them out as the culprit, if you get good speeds from one or the other its more then likely your iptv service

 

I would have the devices that are stationary/furthest away from the router on the extender. IPTV services are also more dependent on the host thats streaming the content rather than your own internet, so theres a chance your internet is fine

1) You shouldn't really need an extender if your modem doesn't suck in that size house

2) I'd try to connect to the modem, its how we are set, do you have the 2ghz and 5ghz bands? 5 is waaaaay faster but less range.

3) The NE BS thread has a few dudes who literally do this for a living and on larger scale, go ask there.

Happy Friday at last. Fucking frigid, but it's Friday!

Yeah, the modem has both the 2 ghz and the 5 ghz range. I'm thinking the issue the iptv service that has/has been having issues.

 

If everything else is going fine that would make sense. We pay to stream youtube but I dunno, I hate google (all big tech) but I don't trust the free ones either.

It's weird because for a while it was working fine, and now it's been having some issues here and there.

TBH, I really shouldn't complain. It works pretty well for the most part... but I like my stuff to work ALL the time, without any issues. LOL

 

Agreed, but tech is my enemy so I don't even expect it to anymore lol

Verizon and others have been going down on and off all week. LOTS of fucky stuff going on if you are a conspiracy guy the alarm bells are RINGING right now.

Hopefully it clears up though.
