Good luck! I'd go new too if I was in your shoes. Let us know what you end up getting.

This is where I am. I'm probably going to put in a request at my dealer next week. Been between an OR and a Pro.

Pro is one and done. I wouldn't mod much until it's out of warranty anyway. I also like to upgrade as things wear/break instead of upgrading for the sake of upgrading. The Pro is enough for my needs right out the door.

In Canada the manual is only available in a crew on the Pro and Sport. The decision may have been tougher if I could get an OR in a manual.

To be fair, we're a pretty active group here with tons of info. But Fridays are more active on here as it seems to be the day you see some pretty crazy posts... Most people are willing to help if you get into a sticky situation and some people love to point fingers and say I told ya so. Stick around and you'll quickly figure out who's who. Good luck with the purchase.

You bet - that's why I also mentioned the offering of Lunar Rock across models in my reply to the OP. I don't mind sharing, others do. :D We are on the same page.

I live about 30 mins north of Pittsburgh, but have we have a family camp in Potter Country and fish out near Penn State. Nice to meet a fellow PA guy on here.

There is a good group of folks in the Regional Section from PA, also. Join us over there, too. You're going to love your Pro. Mine is just a year old now and I have absolutely no regrets in buying it. Puts a smile on my face every time I see it.

Here's a need...stuff slides around like it's on glass unless you do something to the stock bed. Personally...I out a $100 factory bed mat on mine. I'm not a fan of the spray on liners.

If you want the Pro, I would buy new. Used Tacoma’s are so close to the price of new ones I can’t see buying used. You’re looking at a $10K discount for 4 year old paint, rubber parts, seals/gaskets, tires, no bumper to bumper warranty and who knows how the previous owner drove it. Doesn’t make sense to me.

Personally I couldn’t buy a Pro because there wouldn’t be enough head room for me at 6’4” with the sunroof. My next Tacoma (current one is a lease, will buy the next one) will be the same TRD OR that I have now, but with the Katzkins leather covers replacing the factory cloth. I would like to add seat heaters too. I was annoyed that I couldn’t get seat heaters without getting a sunroof.

The engine mapping is different on the 2021 vs the 2017. You don’t see guys complaining about the transmission shifting on the 21 like you do on the older models.

Leather seat at like a $650 after market mod and look great. Again I would side with the TRD OR. But if your money situation is comfortable and can say pay half or m ore down on the vehicle go PRO.

I vote for the 17 if it looks good and try to get another $1,000 off and a bed mat .

Do you want or care about the moon roof? Those are standard on the 21 Pro. If you want nothing to do with the moon roof get the 17.

Power seats can be a plus. 21 for that

If money is not an issue, get the new one. I like being the first person to put the miles on a vehicle and you know the service history.

My two cents... but if you're concerned about saving $, get a sport or offroad and mod it.
