thanks for the info. wow, that's some process. I look forward to hearing/seeing how they hold up. still working out the details on how to finish these. It'll be nice to see them on the truck. hopefully later next month.

I used 400 grit sandpaper to remove all of the grease and grime from the bare steel. Doing this was a real pain. Then i used a tack rag to wipe off any remaining residue, then acetone.
After that I used self etching primer and then sprayed them in flat black. The benefit to painting them is you can touch up scratches on the sliders easily.

However, the paint comes off too easily in my opinion and i even have scratches down to bare metal where i step on them to enter the vehicle.

If I was going to do it all over again I would recommend having a shop sandblast them, sanding these was a huge chore. Then its up to you whether you would want to spray paint them or have them powder coated.

I definitely recommend professional sandblasting. Having the ability to touch up the paint is nice. I'm thinking if you will be dragging these on rocks often, paint them, but if they're more for "insurance" then a powder coat might mean less maintenance in the future

Does anyone know approximately how far out the Caliraised or Mobtown 0 degree stick out past the door?

.....and what did you end up getting?

I didn’t use this thread for buying info, I had my mind set on all-pro bolt ons.
I do not recommend them, there was a lot of drilling.

The advice above by @boston23 about painting prep is what I experienced.
I wasted a ton of time with paint and ended up taking them to a powdercoat shop.

Sounds like you already made your choice, but mine are White Knuckle Off Road: 15 degree angle, full top plates, powder coated. I really like the length of these sliders, build quality is great. Install was easy ... minus the couple of holes that needed to be drilled in the frame.

I ended up getting the CaliRaised/0 deg/Bolt-on with kickout/Filler plates

White Knuckle was my second choice but it was not a 100% bolt on.

    Nice.
I never heard of that other brand.
The all pro look nice but there was a lot of drilling.

The White Knuckle setup required a total of four holes to be drilled on the bottom of the frame. The two on the passenger side went fast, but the two on the drivers side were a total pain in the ass (even tried a new drill bit). No idea why.

Totally understand wanting a 100% bolt on solution now ...

I agree. Better price too when I looked.

After reviewing the install vids for the WK and considering where I live (near the ocean). Extra holes on my frame was not a good idea. I think the WK's look the best though especially with that filler plate style.

These look SAWEET! but I thought the whole point of bolt-on was so you don't have to alter anything:confused:

Really like these! Do the victory logo/plates line up well with where you might use it to step in when you open the door? And how grippy/slippery?

Sorry if my comments were confusing. The White Knuckle sliders require drilling 4 holes in the frame.

While I love these sliders, if I had to do it again I would probably look for something that is 100% bolt on. The two holes on the drivers side were a real pain in the arse.

I'm tracking what you're putting down, haha. I'm definitely keeping that in mind when I get my bolt-ons
