My guess as well, plus better weather. I’ll be there at park open so plenty of time to take breaks and get mind right.

Haven’t even rode of course. Just looked at the drop and step up right beside shuttles here at Windrock. However steep you thought it may be isn’t going to be close to how steep it really is. If all you’ve watched is videos.

Good morning Team Taco - I just picked up my '21 TRD OR last week, and haven't had a chance to get out to the trails this week due to all the rain we've received here north of Phoenix. BUT, if you'll allow me, here is my 1st love and passion - my Why Cycles S7 built up just the way I like it. No pics yet with the truck, but I'll get to that soon. I get a lot of questions about the bike, fire away if you have any.

I've been mountain biking for 34 years, and this bike has been the closest thing to a "forever bike" that I've ever had. I'm the guy that flipped frames every year and in a constant cycle of UGI - this bike has cured me of that. It's a good thing, because it seems like my Tacoma is going to need to get some of my disposable $$...

Man I want a Ti bike so bad. That’s one good looking frame. Something about the top tube and seat stay matching up looks so clean

Not sure I could go back to riding a hardtail but I could look at that frame all day long. Gorgeous!

Found out that I somehow cracked the frame on my 2019 Slash 9.8 :(
Carbon can be a bitch sometimes. Already blew up one of the Bontrager carbon elite wheels (with cush core in it too!), but they warrantied that fortunately.
Trek didn't warranty it so I'm sending it to get repaired and then used the crash replacement discount to buy a new 2021 slash. They've mad a ton of improvements since 2019.

Yea I honestly have no idea how long it's been like that. Pretty sure it might have happened when I was riding the Whole Enchilada in Moab this last year.

It sucks though because I was planning on selling that bike and getting into a different brand. Found it when I was cleaning it all up. Can't sell a bike with a cracked frame though.

Fortunately for me, the bike market is super hot right now so shouldn't have a problem selling it once I get it fixed.

    Simply put, yes.

After many years of chasing that "cool look" of low front end, slammed stem, no spacers (and all the ensuing back problems those things cause), this where I have landed. Through professional bike fit, trial and error, paying attention not only to how I feel during a ride but how I feel in the days after, a higher rise setup works for me and allows less downtime between rides as well as longer rides (my average is in the 15-20 mile range a few times per week).

Additionally, not just lower back relief but also relief on the hands from not putting so much weight on them. Companies have just reduced stack height on bikes over the years to cram longer travel forks into bikes that don't really need them (all the "I'M MOAR ENDURO THAN YOU!!" nonsense), which has caused normal front ends to be way too low for most people, whether they realize it or not. Realistically I could put on a lower rise bar with a bunch of spacers, but I prefer this (visually and mechanically, 18 degree sweep helps the wrists). Being titanium doesn't hurt, either.

Also, that pic can be deceiving, my bars are really only about 1" higher than my saddle - the angle makes it look like they are way up there. I'll look for a better side profile shot and post it.

Sure you can, so long as you disclose the defect. I sold a cracked Trek Fuel EX frame a little while back in that manner. Not saying I sold it for a ton of money, but at a price that the buyer and I both felt was acceptable.

True. I feel like I could get a lot more for it with it fixed though. That and be able to sell it a lot quicker. The company doing the repair will be paint matching that spot on the downtube as well.

For sure. I sold that frame pre bike shortage, so fixed or not it wasn’t a hot item.

I knew I wouldn’t buy someone’s fixed, or broken, frame so I assumed it might be a tough sell either way. Decided to just deducted what a good frame repair cost would be from what I felt that frame was worth pre-damage and listed it on PB.

honestly i went with the cool look and its great. big enduro with big travel and slammed stem looks kind of weird, but since im mainly pedaling uphill on it, the angles kind of work out. i do feel like im in an attack position when im on flats riding to whatever area im riding that day, but i enjoy it.

ive been debating size on my next bike, which should be more of a pedally/xc short travel or hard trail. a slacker headtube angle feels right after being on one and my old diamondback feels like a road bike with the 80mm stem. idk.

everyone has their preference that works for them.

glad your setup works and your bike is freakin beautiful

Yea we'll see how selling it goes after it's fixed. My first experience with this kinda thing. Most all carbon repair shops offer a 10 year warranty on their work and often claim that it's stronger in that area than before, so I'm hopeful that I can get a good price.

A replacement frame would have been 1800 with the crash replacement discount....

What bars are they? I've been considering a similar bar setup for my Krampus.
