Oh, I thought It was supposed to be 04b14?

In that case I feel silly. Thanks.

When connecting the Tactrix with the Techstream laptop, does the engine need to be running or does the ignition just need to be on?

if flashing, then Ignition On. Also note that the prompts will tell you exactly what to do.

For anything else, the engine can be running.

Thanks @tonered ! I got a dedicated laptop with windows 10 just for Techstream and the Factory Service Manual so I am going to play around with it.

I got the following error message. I canceled since I didnt want to mess anything up. Has anyone got this message when trying to update their ECU? What do I do next?

It shows that your current ECU ID is already 04B04 in the left column. There's no update beyond that, yet.

Thanks @tonered ! My ECU was updated back in the beginning of 2019 so I thought this was a newer version. I guess I am good!

The current TSBs drop in the middle of 2018, so the dealer helped you out.

Since the 2016 / 2017 MTs got TSB-0043-20 last year for 04B14, I can only guess that the ATs will be updated at some point. 04B04 was similar to 04B13 for us. 04B14 sounds a lot like the update that the the 2019 / 2020 ATs got with TSB-0092-20 (04B33 and 04B81). And, all of the 2018s have been left out in the cold also.

Are you using a Genuine Tactrix cable? I used to get that message every so often using the cheap ebay one. I would NEVER trust the cheap ones to do an ECU update. I am not even sure the Amazon one linked below for $40 is Genuine.

I wouldn't flash the ECU with an Amazon cable. Customizations should be fine though.

I am using windows 10 and the Tactrix drivers that are linked in the first post and had no issues installing and connecting. This is what my cable looks like.
