I heard about that shit last night, which is funny cause I thought about going out there this Wednesday.

The fire roads out there go from nice and needing 4x4 Hi maybe once or twice to crazy slick and stupid after it rains.

Reminds me of a few years ago when Highway 1 was blocked off; they had construction working on this huge net and other stuff because a ton of it washed away the same way.

Quick question guys. So someone in the marketplace wants to buy an 01-02 4Runner/03-04 Tacoma ETCS hybrid throttle body from me. He's saying it's a 97 4Runner with an 02 engine swapped in. If I'm not mistaken shouldn't he be using the 97 4Runner throttle body unless he did a complete engine harness/ECU swap? Doesn't make sense to be running the hybrid TB in my opinion. I hesitate to sell it to him since his current 02 TB might not be the issue.

Yeah I remember that. Seems like this stuff is going to keep happening with the way they built the highway right along the cliff edge like that...I mean it's no secret the ocean erodes that shit away year after year. In hindsight it was kind of a dumb idea to build a highway there like that lol.

I suspect they're gonna have to just bridge that gap

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I'd ask for a picture of his current throttle body, it's really easy to see the differences physically.

Yeah he sent one. It's an 01/02 hybird. But I don't get why you would do a harness/ECU swap over a simple engine swap. Sounds like he might be trying to run an 02 throttle body on a 97 harness. I'll just ask more questions.

Ah yes all the confusion, he isn't or shouldn't try running the 97 stuff for sure, the electronic brakes won't work and other stuff will get upset

01/02 4Runner were the same as the 03/04 Tacoma in terms of the TB

@Speedytech7 you'll be happy to know but ultimately not care, I'm taking your advice and dropping the notion of manual hub swap conversion. I've got the manual hub tube to install and I'm picking up some cheap ADD spindles to rebuild.

Would the late 90s classify that set up as part time AWD?
