Pretty true.

During the 2008 VW short squeeze stock price stayed within ~10% of ATH for a week.

 

Can't even set sell limits that high currently. Fidelity said has to be within 50% of bid price and RH who the hell knows.

Thursday, December 31st was the last trading day of 2020. If you sold a ton of losers on the 31st, you could take your losses as tax benefit. BUT Not if you bought them back within 30 days.

30 days after December 31st is January 30th. Tomorrow.

My take: A lot of people sold a lot of stuff at the end of 2020 to grab their losses for taxes. They'll sit and wait and shift stuff after 30 days. Monday and throughout February will be a great month.

Yeah, Ally just tells you that you're too far from the current price. Tried to set my 69,420.69 limit earlier. Made me sad.

 

To be fair, I think TD had something similar way before. I bought stonks and then said "Hell, I want to 'automate' my trading long term, I bought XOM at 37 I want to set a limit sale at 75" and it wouldn't let me.

Who do you mean by "they"? RH? I cashed out from RH yesterday when I couldn't buy anything and am moving funds to other better options that I already have active accounts with.

Trading vs Investing.

I invest mostly. But I "trade" with like, 500 bucks. So all the stuff I post and talk about, getting "25% gains yee haw!", gotta remember that I most likely gambled about 100 bucks at the most so I got a whopping 25 bucks out of it.

 

THEY = Hedge funds holding all the short shares, moving the market trying to not lose their shirts.
