I'm sure you have already ran your numbers and selling by private party always offer the most $$$ vs. trade. The tax rate in my parish is ridiculously high (10.5%) that it was actually advantageous for me to trade in my 2 vehicles for a 21 TRD Pro. Your tax rate may be substantially smaller and the bottomline may show that selling your Explorer via private party is a better option. I tried to sell my CT 200h, but in my location, hybrids aren't very popular so I kept lowering the price until it almost matched Carmax's offer. Carvana offered less. The dealer matched Carmax which was OK. It was traded in along with my SR5, added a few Ks more. I checked with 2 dealers and they all have the same appraisal on my 21 SR5 (I'm looking at you big Toyota database). I lost a few Ks on the CT, but lessons learned. The TRD Pro actually rides better than the CT with F Sport trim, at least with the kind of roads that we have. Enjoy the ride :)

9k is worth it for all the add-ons, full warranty, and it hasn't be f'd with.

Please tell me where I can get a 2021 TRD PRO Double Cab for $39-42K...I'll fly to pick it up or have it shipped. I've called 10 dealerships and the one I'm looking to buy from was the only one who would budge off MSRP.

My buddy has a Tacoma so I've rode it in quite a bit. It's perfect size for what I need it for.

TRD Pro 4WD TRD Pro Double Cab 5' Bed V6 MT (Natl) [invoice] $40,926. [MSRP] $44,175.00
TRD Pro 4WD TRD Pro Double Cab 5' Bed V6 AT (Natl) [invoice] $43,430 [MSRP] $46,880.00

Don't know accurate these are, but I think close? And then there are port/dealer installed options that adds another 1K or so. Predator step = $600 or thereabouts. The supply is so constrained that if one tries to haggle with the price, there's always somebody who is willing to pay full MSRP. It is not an option to say that you have a better quote from the other dealer because there's no other dealer within a 2 hr drive that has it in stock. Definitely a seller's market rn.

We did the OEM bedmat also, good choice. Didn't like how square the Predator steps were so went with NFab Podiums. They are $417.56 at Runningboard Warehouse and have a $50 rebate till the end of the month. Does Rohrich offer any discount on accessories when you buy the truck? We got the mat that way so no shipping charges. Picked up a few other accessories at delivery. Also got some online at BAM and Sparks.

We bought from Spitzer. Never heard much good about their pricing but they did really well and no BS fees. That was pre covid when there was plenty of inventory and had multiple Pros on the lot. Looks like they currently have a whopping 2 Tacomas so I doubt any deals today.

Bob's deal? Looks like a Cali dealer. I was on a phone with a sales guy with a dealership in Houma Louisiana (pop 33,334) who had an MGM TRD Pro, he says there was somebody from Cali checking on it.

Bob likes to bend people over. They sold a green DCSB OR 4x4 last week, 7500$ over MSRP

OP, I simply meant the prices are higher in 2021 than they were just a couple of years ago.

All models are selling for more, but the difference is greater on the Pro because the only dealers with stock are in stock because their prices are higher.

When I said.....they are over priced it was vs the historical price. I don't believe the features have improved proportionately.

Looking at the grille, wheels and lack of over fenders, it doesn’t look like a pro.

There's a pattern. I got a txt from sales guy about availability of an MGM Pro from dealer below. I looked at their web site it's the same stock photo. Looks like they ran out of TRD Pro stock photos as well.

I am 5'8 with about a 3" lift. The predators are perfect anything else would be less perfect.

They come off easy if I go OR.

9K is definitely worth it for all the warranties and such! You get up to 20,000 miles in service warranties. Plus you have the benefit of know exactly what has happened to the truck. That's my two cents.

I've had the predators and the 5" oval tubes. Prefer the look of the tubes, also better rock protection. The Predators are very handy on my lifted truck for kid and wife to actually get in and out of my truck.

Tubes and running boards probably have the same issue though, rubbing your leg entering and exiting the vehicle.

Either are fine for your intended use.

Bought mine at Rohrich from Kim Dean. Nice lady, she only knocked about a thousand off but I don’t think they can do a lot more. Not a single regret, love the interior, sound and all the other pro features. Hope to see you driving around PGH :hattip:
