She’s had the same boyfriend for the last year or 2, so I don’t think she swings that way... but maybe the subie will give her the push she needs, lol.

Did something very similar. Went from my 2016 WRX to my 2020 Offroad.

Nothing. My Subaru was written off Dec 2019 so I had nothing to trade in towards my 2016 Tacoma. My 2016 Tacoma was then written off May 2020 so I bought my 2020 Tacoma. Thankfully none of the accidents were my fault.

Used the dirty diesel buy back to put
Down ~2/3 of the cost on the 2017 OR

Timing was not easy though and there was some risk. To get the Truck I wanted, I had to order it. They gave me a big window when it would come in and I was expected to promptly pick up and pay for it. VW had similar backlog to turn in the tdi. Timings worked out pretty good though. Dealer
Took a 2 week iou while I waited for the check from VW to clear

I traded in a 2017 F-150 XL and a 2018 Infiniti Q50 on my 2021 Sport. I combined the truck and sportish car into one vehicle.

The power of the Infinity twin tubo V6 was nice but where and the way I drive it was wasted. My Tacoma has plenty of power for me and actually handles pretty well for a truck.

Traded my 2015 Mustang GT in on my ‘21 Off Road. I would have sold it privately, but the dealer gave me what I paid for it three years earlier. I do miss the acceleration from time to time. Only reason I got rid of the ‘stang is that I destroyed my left knee and I couldn’t get into the car and even if I somehow managed to enter it, I couldn’t work the clutch.

Sold my grandmas 07 Tahoe I got from her when she couldn’t drive anymore and used a portion of that cash for my down payment for my 2021. I had missed my 2015 taco since I sold it and got the Tahoe Dec 2018.

Nothing. I had my 2000 Ford Ranger, and I still have it. The trade-in value on a 20 year old truck is much less than what it's worth to me. 2000 Ranger on left, 2021 Tacoma on right:

Traded a 2017 F250 6.2 4x4. I actually really liked the truck. No real issues in 3.5 years and 37K miles. However, I had no real need for the capabilities of a F250, though the sheer size was nice (except in parking lots). I got $5K less on trade than I paid for it (no fuzzy math either, dealer would have paid the same in cash). So I traded down to a slightly used (8K miles) 2020 TRD OR 4x4 and got a high, 4 figure check (F250 was paid for). I had actually ordered a '21 F250 Tremor with the new 7.3 gas motor but the dealership sold in the interim and I just didn't want to do business with the new ownership. I had bought my wife a '18 TRD OR, back in August and we like that truck so much I decided to become a 2 Taco family.

After having an '81 and '87 Toyota 4X4 then a '97 F-150, I went to cheap rides. (long commute) A Honda Del Sol then a 2000 Celica. Bought a 2013 Dodge Dart from my son-in-law who was moving out of state and couldn't take it with him. Traded that on a nice certified preowned '16 Taco. I couldn't be happier to be back in a Toyota 4x4.

I traded my 2016 STi with 70k miles. I loved my Subaru, but I needed a better way to haul my kayaks and fishing gear. My strap/suction-on roof rack worked fine, but was a huge pain and leaked water whenever it rained - not to mention that it dented the roof when I had 2 kayaks on at once.
    20201019_093334.jpg

I contemplated keeping it, but the dealer actually gave me a good trade-in value so I ended up with my 2021 TRD Off Road V6 6MT. I wouldn't have made the switch if it weren't for the manual in the Tacoma. I do miss the acceleration of the STi, though. Also it's taken me over a month to get used to the long throw length of the Taco shifter, but it's going to be all worth it when I throw the kayak and poles into the bed for the first time. And bonus, my custom STi shift knob fits perfectly on the truck shifter!

Was a great car, but gaskets and plastic engine bits are notorious problems in old age.
