I wish it was only 2 months lol. Ordered my November 30 last year. Won’t even be delivered to my dealer until sometime in March. Was quoted 12-16 weeks in the beginning. It’s so crazy how long new orders are taking right now.

Don’t be to disappointed be it takes WAY longer than 5-7 weeks to get to you. Just saying. I’m 8 weeks in......Have another 5 weeks to go. The shell I ordered isn’t even that crazy. Pretty basic.

That's good to know. I'm going to a local dealer on Saturday to see about ordering one, I'll be curious to see what they have to say about the lead time. Honestly though as long as I have it by the summer I'll be happy.

For anyone that reads this and looking into a new leer...
Ask your dealer about the 'legacy' that isn't advertised. You can add on most everything except power locks and stuff. It is the exact same other than having a framed back window (which actually opens better and higher) with t-handles. Other than that it's the exact same shell but a 5 year warranty instead of 'lifetime' whatever that means and is 500 bucks cheaper.

I wanted the dual t-handels and don't care or need the power lock crap. You won't be able to use coupon for free headliner or whatever.

For those interested I saved roughly $400 and got all the add-ons I wanted

Edit. It's the LEGEND not LEGACY

What does that include? The Leer dealers can quote you a low starting price, but then the options, accessories, and services start adding up. The basic price of my 100XR was $1,824, but by the time we added the carpeted headliner, removable front window, Thule tracks, installation, supplies, and taxes it ended up costing over $2,500. (And even at that I did the wiring work myself.)

Carpet headliner and fold down front window. That’s all I wanted in mine. Prices start at $1699 and go up to $2699. They knock off 10% for disabled veterans.

Look into post #25. Also most dealers will honor the coupon to get a free headliner or removable front window if you go R or XR route (found on Leer website). My dealer didn't charge any added fee for wiring or installation. I'm sure it was added in at some point but it wasn't added on top of the invoice from Leer. The closest other Leer dealer to me was 3+ hours so I guess I got luck. 1.5 years old and still no leaks. Might want to also ask if they have installed on other tacomas due to the trucks weird bed design.

I got my 'legacy' with tracks headliner removable front window and 3way 12v power port for just over 2k including install.

I know mine is a second gen but doesn't matter. I even got shell painted a non color matched metallic

Again for others reading and wanting save a few hundred the LEGACY is not advertised online but my dealer told me about it. Roughly $500 less and the same fiberglass shell

    UPDATE...
Just talked to the dealer. The headliner and folding front window are not included. They do have a coupon to get one of the two for free. They are the same price, so that would bring the OTD price to $1991. 4-5 week wait.

When I first ordered my Leer (back in October), I was quoted an 8 week wait. That was fine by me, because that was also the target date for my truck to come in. As it turned out, the cap arrived much sooner, and it had to wait as an orphan at the cap dealer until I could get the truck.

Leer was apparently very slow in the first half of 2020, when the COVID hit. They now seem to have solved their production problems. I would say your time estimate is realistic.

I won't be disappointed but the retailer will. I specifically said if it is not here in 7 weeks I'll want a refund. They assured me it most likely will be here in 5 weeks based on their recent order/delivery results with Leer.

The dealer said they had a coupon for a free headliner or fold down front window. The Leer website says the headliner is included...

    Are you positive?

I don't see it listed as included on Leers website..

It says “insulated”. Maybe that’s not a headliner??

I believe based on the highest inside and highest outside dimension I was provided for the Leer topper heights, that there is some type of insulated construction in the top portion of the shell.

    2" difference on the 100R

Went down to the dealer and put in my order. Grand total was $2,076 installed. When I got home, I had an email from ARE with a price quote on an ARE Z model. $1779!!!

I was thinking of going this route, the base model is not too bad but once you start adding like windoors, fold down front window, and electric lock tied to vehicle it jumped to $3500.. told them no.

I did not need anything too elaborate. I just wanted a headliner and fold down front window. Got the window for free too.
