No, German. Mustang came from the Czech Republic, Ember - Germany. Her sire was a world champion IPO dog.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Beautiful dog, and great work. I get Fredk's point, but yours also. It is probably the best mental and physical game for the dog, and I'm sure your wife has a good bond with him. And I bet he's worn out after the "game". I personally wouldn't do bite training (nothing against it) but each their own if the dog is well cared for and under control. I always tell mine "good girl" when she barks at a "threat", ie squirrel, deer, etc. Her job is to alert, mine is to protect. Actually I should say her weapon is her bark, mine is a 9mm, .40, 12ga, pepper spray, .380, .223 etc...

I worked at a nuclear power plant for 35 years. In my early years, our plant security had trained security dogs. They were some variety of German Shepard, from Germany, and their commands were in German. I remember them being very large. Nice dogs until given the appropriate command by their handler. Only got a little nervous around them when riding the elevator. Little too confined a space for my taste given that the dog could easily rip me apart.

When the dog's officer would be in for their first or second training session, the trainer works to position the dog within bit distance. The handler needs to be engaged with the trainer while the second trainer casually walks by and grabs a chunk of thigh-every time you see eyes light up like a Christmas tree. That and eating beef jerky while offering dog jerky. All sorts of fucked up shenanigans for the duration.

    mustang is the mal right?

Gunner was born in the Netherlands and shipped here where some lady with too much money didn’t know what to do with a massive Dutchie...so long story short he fell in our lap about 6 months after my fiancé had to give up her working Teruvian due to leaving her department

I posted this in another thread and thought it would be best to post it here also.

You just took me back years ago to the first few days we had a new puppy and our older dog did this exact thing to the new puppy. After a minute we pulled the big dog off, but that puppy just sat there with a blank look on his face for about 5 minutes trembling terribly. Man I miss that old dog. That puppy is now an old dog himself though and I think he enjoys being the only dog. A recent pic of my 9 month old and that old puppy. :)
