Yeah. Gold Rush the engine and trans were taken out and the buggy sold. At first Shane was all about BK towards the end not so much. I think they might of had a bit of a falling out. His BIL is Matt Scheusler that has Bad Influence. IMO Bad Influence is a much more well rounded buggy. I think Shane just blew the tires off as you would say in drag racing. The origianal Riot Buggy was at a few events last year about midway through.

I think something like that. That's about where Cameron's buggies are the 1500 mark. I think that's the sweet spot watching them. I'd rather have something in the 500-700 hp range more low end that can crawl and do rock bouncer shit.

We ran into a guy that had one of the Riot race Chassis. He had the stall and engine set up for the high rpm higher hp hits so trail riding just doesn't work with that set up. They certainly are beautiful buggies that's for sure.

What would you guys pick as a platform for a truggy? I have long term plans of building one. Really don’t know much, it’s just an idea for now. I thought an 80’s hilux would be a good start. I like what that guy on here trekker or something is doing. I think it would be fun to learn the ins and outs of engines, links, suspension and all that jazz as a long term project.

Exactly he isn't hording all the information to himself gives you the basics but also explains it well enough where you can go and trouble shoot work on different things and figure it out if you have problems with something not working right. They have a new channel for that stuff now.

So what he's building is more highspeed stuff with the ITBs. I am going to truggy off an AC 1st gen Taco. On IG look up 60h_taco. That is my goal, there are a bunch like his over in the PNW. You could truggy just about anything it's just a matter of knowing where to start. I'm just going to use the outer skins of the 1st gen everything else is gone.

Set some goals of where you want to be as far as WB, Width, weight, HP, tire size, etc.

If you just want something cool well engineered quickly gets you linked and rocking and rolling in a mild truggy build look at 4wheel underground. They make kits for 1st gen tacos and older. You can get your feet wet with that and then spring board off that into crazier stuff. He has really good geometry in his kits.

Im going to be looking for a late model pickup soonish. 86+ Probably. 22re and gear driven transfer cases are a must for me and I’m going to link it, so I don’t care about looking for a unicorn 85.

platform depends on your use though. Speed/horsepower or gearing/control

I like them and Wide Open for parts stuff. I'm going to be getting a bunch of builder parts from one of them for something crazy with the taco if my LT and front end rebuild wasn't going to be wild enough.

With the 11” stroke shocks that most run (including me) in the stock location, you have to limit up travel to gain a little more down travel. Not fully utilizing the 11” stroke and It’s kinda unfortunate

will be interesting to see if Matt’s are truly 11” of fully utilized travel. It’ll have to be a shorter shock body than the b110.

There is just something about a propane injected 22 or sami! Makes them sound like little tractors and you can forever on a fill up. Pretty sure it's a lot lighter too

I run a fuel cell in my Samurai, gave me 7 more inches of clearance in the rear
