All the old tunes should be available in .vtf. We could do and understand a lot more with that information.

 

I don't believe VFtuner is completely unlocked yet either...IIRC there are still a lot of "features" that haven't been made available yet. Give it another couple years and maybe it will be available along with the "performance" 2.0 tunes that keep getting talked about.

I just loaded the Premium “stumble start” tune.
This tune has gearlock in S-mode without having to press ECT. It also has a “performance” tune in ECT with good tip in and higher shift points.
OVtune should have just fixed the stumble start and this would be a great tune!
It has many maps.
- Drive mode
- Gear lock in S-mode
- Performance in ECT
- Tow tune with S-mode +ECT
I wonder why he didn’t use this as 2.0 Final (with the stumble start fixed of course)
I’m gonna run it this weekend to my hunting camp. See how it does on the hilly highway and in the woods.
I really don’t think it will hurt the starter, but if it does, I’ve had it 5 1/2 years, it had a good run. I’ll replace it.

 

Absolutely...we all thought that 2.0 was going to be that tune minus the stumble start...and then 2.0 releases and it was nothing like it...made no sense.

I finally loaded that beta tune back. Wow. It is sooo good minus the startup deal; which really isn’t that bad. I’m gonna leave it on my truck for the time being.

 

Are we staying around this time?

 

I ran it that weekend, I like the map switching, but missed the performance. I put my tune back and it was nice to feel the improvement again. Anyone who wants to appreciate the custom tunes again, flash a 2.0 base tune and run it a week, then go back to a custom tune. The things we take for granted.

Hey bud! Im an AZ wildcat, and my folks still live out there. My mom has always been into software, and she was asking me if I wanted to expand out there, by teaching her how to use the software and flash ECUs. I've actually been thinking about it!

If you think there's a market out there, I might be making that happen. I'd be creating the tune files, and you'd get to meet my awesome mom to have her plug in and flash it.

 

Market may be dried up. My partner and I flashed a bunch of trucks out there in September and then chan chan came through in November and set up a massive group buy/meet and...yeah.

 

Lol there are so many tacomas out there.

Speaking of- I know someone in Maryland looking for a tune, ill message the person on the first post in Baltimore but if you’re seeing this and in MD pm me as you may be closer.

 

I can do TSB updates in the SFV (Sunland).

 

Meet up with @DownhillDragon - Austin, TX for an update on my 2016 Tacoma and all went well. Nice guy we chatted and he discussed parameter changes. Very squared away guy, communicates well and makes sure you understand what is being done and the expected results.

Now onto the important part could I tell any difference and was it worth the visit?

ABSOLUTELY!!

My truck feels like a new beast!

Surprisingly tremendous power and torque increase. All TSBs satisfied and unleashed performance.
