Several other people have replied, but I'll add my comment. I'm stuck in the same position you are, and it's not a position I want to be in. STAY PUT until you cash out your GME. Do not risk tying up your account over the next week.

Thanks guys. I have other stocks in RH (long) that I don’t really care about if they take a while to transfer. But obviously the GME I have is time sensitive. Guess I’ll stick it out on this traitor platform. But after this, I am DONE with them and hope they go bankrupt.

Switch to schwab stew. They trade one of the lowest rates with Citadel out of all the platforms (~30%) who has pushed robinhood and others to limit the “free” market. Plus being a man who values customer service as I have seen in the past you can get on the phone with a real account manager in the USA extremely quickly. Start the transfer asap after this gme madness is over it’s pretty easy, but don’t start until after so $ isn’t tied up.

 

I'm fairly certain they won't survive this. Even with plenty of liquidity, which they don't have, their about to loose a lot of people. As of 2020 they had 13M users. Once the GME dust settles I bet that number gets down to 4M or less. Then the lawsuits will come later this year. Yeah, their fucked.

 

I liquidated at market open this morning every position I had in RH that was positive. I'm holding a few calls I might get a return on, but even if I don't, I'm out.

 

Also, if you really want to stick it to RH don't close out the account completely. Just leave it open with $1 in it. That way they have to maintain it which will cost them more then a $1. If everyone does that it would sink them even faster. lol

 

GE is a fantastic ticker to learn options trading on. Stable company, cheap options, and medium to low volatility. You won't get rich, but you can watch in real time how your options are playing out without losing more than a couple hundred bucks. (or making a couple hundred bucks)

And when you're learning, DO NOT PLAY WEEKLIES. 3+ months out on boomer stocks to get the feel for what's going on.

I don’t blame you, and congrats on the tendies. For the record they pulled some very similar shit when covid stocks were surging and they weren’t letting people exercise their contracts. I made out +4k after that but could have been more. That’s when I switched to schwab for options and quicker plays. Fuck them to oblivion.

AS much as I want to liquidate and bail, I have a decent amount of GME that I know Is going to increase soon. so I’m going to risk it staying in RH then GTFO

Hell hath no fury like a kairo scorned. I've already contacted an attorney, and I'm weighing my options of suing by myself vs joining a class action.

Think about it this way. Even though RH isn't publicly traded it still has stock through private investment firms. They still have to show a bottom line quarterly. When there's still 12M users showing and their bottom line is $1.2M what do you think investment firms are going to do? Yep. Cash the fuck out. See yeah. Bye. Game over.

the covid thing was annoying AF...but to be fair they weren't the only brokerage to time out...
that being said, the shit they're pulling right now is inexcusable (and prob illegal)...
i've got a pretty good chunk of change in it...I will likely end up transferring out once GME stuff + my other options clear.

 

Wasn't Schwab also limiting trading? They run my retirement so I don't really, care. But, if they're not much better than RH, not sure I'd really want to use them for my recreational investing.
