@Dansly56 Get a dash cam, not sure if it would have helped catch the guy but at least you would have had some footage on the a-hole who did it. I have been researching a few lately and def getting one in both my vehicles due to a series of recent unfortunate events lately.

Feel your pain

brand new $250 dollar cover on my boat got slashed open. Boat is stored in a locked up storage yard. Guess people will be assholes any where. Crazy is I almost bought a $1000 custom cover.

Small inconvenience compared to the damage your Tacoma received. I just hope the asshole who slashed my cover doesn’t come back to do worse things like slashing tires or damage the actual boats.

 

Did you make a report with the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Office? There might have been more in the area, or they might have caught someone doing the same thing a block or two away. Also, do your neighbors have Ring cameras? Those have been pretty good lately for catching people. At the very least, I am sure your insurance company will want a report number. Good luck.

 

Yeah I contacted the local sheriff station and they don’t come out to do these type of police reports anymore because of the pandemic instead I have to file a claim online and the is temporarily down is what the website says smh. The area where I was parked there isn’t any ring cameras around but I talked to people today about to make the aware

 

Give them a call back.. I told them you would be calling because the website is down. They will send someone out.

Police report was done and the officer has had calls on punk kids opening doors of cars and stealing stuff. He believes it was some punk ass kids. Checked the cameras at work and nothing so had to be in my neighborhood. Dash cam is coming and my estimate to fix came in at $4100 smh.

 

That sucks, man.

 

I heard from a local sheriff buddy awhile back that people going through cars has been on the rise, to keep nothing of value in the car. Drives me crazy that my daughter is always forgetting to lock her car!!
