One of my best days was early fall, buddy and I got on the beach just as the sun was coming up and the bite was on and stayed on all day. First time I limited out on pompano(6) and my buddy caught his first one.

There is a spot locally that "holds a lot of drum (black and red)" as well as some other species, I've been eyeballing it on google maps and I think its time to take the truck on the beach to get there new years day!

Catch and cook steelhead out of the Rocky River. Lemon butter, shallots and dill, baked on the grill. So fresh!

Not gonna lie lol it’s gonna be difficult to keep those fishing numbers up to pre-arrival levels

but then in a few short years it gets better :)5C80643E-13F2-448B-B118-DA63B435BCC4.jpg

@truchador New Mexico - San Juan River, wonderful tail water river. Caught that near 28” on a #24. Average size trout is 17”, mostly rainbow. Really cool place to visit and fish!

    Lol that is beautiful country

I got to fish there a few Octobers ago. Didn’t catch any browns but fished lots of tiny junk to big hungry rainbows :)

I about shit my waders the first time I looked downstream at the pod of giant fish that followed my every step. San Juan shuffle lol

Love it. Have a 5 and a 6yr old currently, they love every minute on the beach and even got their own rods this past Christmas. Can only hope this one loves it just as much. Last time trying and I ended up with girl #3
