Are you going to just repair it and be done with Trek or are you doing the repair/selling and still getting the new frame at a discount? Do they require you cut the old frame in half or something like that if you get the crash replacement frame?

well I originally wanted to get into a more trail oriented bike since the slash series is kind of a bear to pedal up steep shit.

I already used the crash replacement discount and put it towards a new 2021 slash 9.8 instead of a replacement frame. Made the most sense. I could sell the new bike and profit too if I wanted, but I like it so far. Need to get some more rides in.

I'm sending the cracked frame to an independent company in Colorado to fix it.
As far as I know, they don't care what you do with the old one if you buy a replacement frame. I believe they would only want the damaged one back if they honored the warranty and replaced it that way.

Most big bike companies have a similar program with carbon stuff like that. A buddy of mine had the same thing happen with his Yeti, didn't warranty it, but the crash replacement was only like $500 for the front triangle. Dunno why a replacement with Trek is so much more....

Those are titanium "Oddmone" bars by Oddity Cycles out of Fort Collins, Colorado. Here is a link to check them out. They are not cheap (in ti), and there is a wait as they are built to order. But I can honestly say I've never ridden a smoother set of handlebars.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Handup is one of my fave new companies. Their AT pants, stretch flannel, and gloves fit me perfectly and are awesome. And this.... makes it super great.

This is good to hear. I've been thinking about getting some ti bars for my ti frame but was debating if the cost was worth it...

I just ordered a 140mm Pike for that frame and added some fresh 180mm rotors and code brakes. I think handlebar or wheels might be the next thing for that build.

Edit: just checked the tracking number and saw that my fork was delivered!!!!!!

Windrock is an awesome place, I had a blast. Maybe did around 12+ run downs.

Christopher Grice and Neko Mulally were there today.

They were cool, I sat right beside neko on the ride up and didn’t realize who it was till I saw the intense factory racing on jersey.

They were just there chatting it up like everyone else enjoying their day.

edit.. had to show neko where the brake was, bc apparently he has forgotten.

This means you need to space the cleat off the sole of the shoe. Your pedals/cleats should have included such a spacer for this. If you leave it the way it is, you can chew up the sole of the shoe from it interfering too much with the pedal

Anyone got any seat time on any Alchemy bikes? Just put a deposit down for an Arktos with a March shipping time so I need to do a bit more research.

Also, selling my 2019 Devinci Django GX

I demoed the arktos 29 when it first came out. It's basically the same as a Yeti. I liked it, but ended up buying the rallon instead.
