Really like the build spec for $5700. Fox factory all around, 175mm dropper, and i9 Enduro S Hydra wheelset. Geo is on par with most other bikes 65°/76°. Most excited about a 135mm rear. Although my current 120mm has been ultra fun, it could use some extra squish.

Plus manufactured in the good ol’ USA

Edit: Also been considering a Pivot Switchblade or Revel Rascal but like I said spec-wise the Arktos is what I’m looking for.

I really like what Revel is doing.

That’s not to take away from Alchemy, or the builds they’re offering.

Anybody ever have issues with the lower shock bolt loosening repeatedly? I’m having to re-torque mine way too often. To the point where I’m carrying my torque wrench on rides. Which I’ve never felt the need to do prior.

I’m sure hitting it with some loctite will likely remedy the problem. Just never had this issue on any other bike before.

Locktite it and should be g2g. Thats not normal.

Alternatively, tighten it down till it gets REALLY tight, then loose again. Then back it off a quarter turn.

Yea I’ll dab it this evening or tomorrow.

What’s odd is I made sure all pivots/bolts were torqued to spec pre ride today. As soon as I got rolling I noticed some God awful creaking. First thought was F! as it sounded just like the creaking a cracked carbon frame makes. After a few miles the creak subsided. I hopped off to recheck the bolt, and sure as shit the bolt was out of spec again...but quiet.

Now I’m kinda perplexed as it almost seems the factory spec had everything binding a bit which causes the creaking.

Thinking I may need to go slightly below the recommended torque value once I add the loctite.

That may be a decent idea. Does sound like an interference issue.

Trying to resist the desire to order an Elevensix since Cane Creek doesn’t make a compatible coil shock.

The $1k+ for a shock is def what’s holding me back. Not sure what they do differently that CC can do for half the price. Bummed that Push is the only one that makes a coil that will fit my Following.

Don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but the Arktos is made overseas.

Didn’t catch that last line. I love that they talk about handmade, USA, then at the end just mention it’s made overseas

Waiting to hear back from the LBS on the Switchblade and Rascal. I’m guessing their delivery times are late Summer at best.

Let me know about Revel. There is a shop not far from me that carries them and had a lot of them in stock. I could be your representative that “purchases in store” and then they will ship it for you. Absolute Bikes in Salida, CO. I personally have been looking at guerrilla gravity made in Denver. The pros closet has a few used models in stock with some I9 enduro 305 wheels. They also seem poised to do some new bike launch stuff really soon.

Oh I didn’t mean to imply revel bikes were made in Colorado as an alternative to Alchemy. The only ones I’m aware of that are made in Colorado are Guerrilla Gravity and Reeb.

Got my wife a new bike. Today was her maiden ride. It makes my old 26" 3x9 bikes look lame!

Whoever brought up BKXC videos and their flaws the other day, Im watching his videos and omg.

Had to have a bike shop install a new set of pads for him, then going down Grafton is so sucked up to the rider in front of him's back wheelbhes having to lock up half the time. :annoyed:

Don't hate on those of us who don't know how to replace some pads :D . I wouldn't know which ones to buy if I had to do the job but I would most likely learn to do it myself because I'm cheap, but I don't know as of right now because I haven't come across any issues with my pads yet. For the average rider/new riders his videos are really entertaining to see.

Dude I know what you mean. I can only handle stuff from Nate Hills or Trail Peek. They just ride and ride hard. I don’t need to hear about how their day is going or “wwwwhhaaatts uuupp yooouuuuttuuubbee” “if you like what you see subscribe and think about supporting this channel on patreon.” :frusty:

    not enough.
yeah...i like nate hills better than bkxc for sure. bkxc is a little cringey for my tastes. Nate hits the trails real hard. AND he rides and keeps up really well with really well known shredders. Jeff Kendall-weed as well, also a great rider/channel. NOthing against BKXC but, just not my thing.
