    Lol good luck!! Me and my father in law, local 30 years mechanic with his own shop, have been talking about doing a 4.6/4.7 v8 or 5.7 v8 into my single cab 4x4 eventually. Originally planned on doing a simple 4.0 swap and change out from the 2.7 but hey if you’re going to do it might as well do it.

    gm full float is an excellent rear end if that’s what you’re still going with, have done a few projects with those and Dana fronts, mostly with old Chevy blazers though so was pretty much bolt on in that case. We haven’t gotten near as far into figuring out how to tackle it.

    Love to see where this goes for you we’re excited to get going on it ourselves but looking for a donor now. Cool to see someone else doing it and recording it.

    still might go with a 4.0 but he’s really trying to convince me on a tundra v8.

    For your 2.7, a fairly simple turbo install will give that engine loads of power. That 2.7 is a beast of an engine. Far stronger than the 4.0.

    4.0 is a super easy swap in. Since the chassis is the same.

    The 2UR(?), which comes in the 4Runner, is also a pretty easy swap in, since it has the 4.0 as well.

    Just some other options for you. Had you not thought about those. All up to your desires though. Carry on mate. :thumbsup:

    I'm still way behind on videos and to be honest, I haven't been working on this truck much at all this summer. The weather has been nice and I've had my son most of the time. So, we've been doing other things. But I still have a few episodes I haven't even edited yet. And I really want to get back to work on this project.     All of the thoughts of mine, have probably been taken care of by now, due to your early comments.

    Plans on wrapping that header, near the steering column?

    Curious if you bent some steel plate, or cut a piece of pipe in half for the needed crossmember notch?

    www.aceraceparts.com has very good V-band flanges. The weld area is higher away from the flange face, which helps prevent flange distortion. If you hadn't ordered them yet.

    I was planning for an electric fan, but recently changed my mind. The sizing for everything is coming together really nice.
