The rogue deadlift bar at my old gym was noticeable at 365+ to me. It’s not necessarily just the whip, but it’s also a smaller diameter which helps with grip. Depends on how fast you move the bar too.

Meh he's using straps so diameter doesn't help much.

Makes sense. I hook grip, so girth is everything to me

The rogue Ohio bar at my gym is pretty whippy even with my wimpy weight on it.

The internet has some weird algorithms lol. This had zero description or intent to be shared and my little squat max video somehow got 3,000 views and 15 comments

I would like to get a deadlift bar eventually. Both the bars I have are super stiff. I don’t pull that much weight but I can definitely notice a difference when I train somewhere with a deadlift bar. But I’m not competing any time soon so I don’t have a reason to train on a dl bar (or justify the cost).

I pulled up to 385 then 315 for 5x4 on a rogue DL bar today and got an easy 1/2-3/4” out of it before 315 broke the ground

Personally I wouldn't call that usable. I don't feel a difference on a deadlift bar until over 600lbs. Having said that, I don't pull slack out, I rip it off the ground.

I also just thought about how grip width effects that. I grip the bar right at the inside edge of knurling, as close together as I can get my hands and my thumbs still be on knurling. I’m assuming your grip is much wider.

but that 3/4” is enough for me to get momentum moving before taking the full weight of the bar, which helps a shit ton

Kalle yelled at me for that. Said to pull slack out.

I pull almost the same as Rauno Heinla. Works for me so far. I have big speed off the floor to my knees and the bar type really makes no difference.

My grip is surprisingly narrow to most. That's the slack I get with 455lb on a rogue deadlift bar.photocollage_2021130174231405~2.jpg

Getting better, almost everyday it seems. Out of the soft cast and into a walking boot now. Follow up appointment is Feb 8th. Hopefully I get this boot off.

So one guy at Strongman Masters Nationals last weekend tore BOTH quads off the tendon while doing an axle push press.

Today my friend detached one of his quad tendons on the same movement....

My question is why? They both detached them during the dip before pressing. It's not even that heavy. Why would a push press tear that but not a front squat?

They are both on heavy amounts of tren so I know that contributed to it. Obviously their tendon strength was not on par with their muscle strength, but still... Why would that small squat/dip on a push press put enough pressure on the quad to detach it? Coach is telling me it's mainly from too much forward knee travel and him coming up off his heels. Is that really enough to cause that?

Kim Derks did the same thing with a log or an axle push jerk.
