Know this general topic has been gone over, but haven’t found an answer to a question with the frame recall. I am proud 2nd owner of a 2015 ACLB originally purchased and owned in Indiana. Owner unexpectedly died and bought from his sister. He had never had the frame looked at but she gave me paperwork. After numerous calls, found a dealer who would do the inspection, they inspected, applied the coating and sent me on my way. With still having 5 or 6 years remaining I asked if I can bring back yearly for follow up inspections. Was told by different people it’s a one and done and then another saying I can. So my question is has anyone gone through this and getting follow up inspections within the grace period or is this a one and done? Any help would be appreciated.

Good luck with the new truck. It's one and done. You have now made yourself eligible for the extended frame warranty - bueno. What you really want to do now is apply fluid film (or your choice of comparable) yearly and the frame will outlast you and never need the warranty anyway.

Thanks for responding. So with my taco now done with dealer inspection, is it then up to me to keep an eye out for rust? Would hope that I could bring it in again and let dealer give another once over. This spring (when weather is warmer) I will definitely do the fluid film.

    :fingerscrossed:
I called corporate Toyota USA this morning and not very helpful. They did tell me it’s a one and done with inspections and I was now responsible. But when trying to give them the wrong approach they had, the person was not getting it and wanted to transfer me to a local dealer and talk with their service manager. Called them myself and they said they wouldn’t do it on a yearly basis since it was just inspected and coated but are more than happy to inspect it a couple more times prior to my recall expiration in 2026. Said this is potentially a lot of work for them if frame needs to be replaced so no problem to bring in down the road.
