    Hello,
I just purchased a Tacoma for my hunting rig. I spend a lot of time on the interstate and highway but once we get to government land it is all log roads, dirt roads, etc. Lots of pot holes, creeks, deep ruts, etc on the daily basis. I’m looking for a 2-3 inch suspension lift that will provide the best performance in these type conditions. The interstate travel is the kicker as I don’t want it to ride awful. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That question could be answered a million ways. I suggest research all lifts. Also ride quality is in the eye of the beholder. You have a budget 5100’s ALL AROUND oem springs , or NOT. AAL rear or eibach great kits. Upper control arms IMO worth it. You have money to spend Kings, Fox , Ads , OME just to name a few.
    Good Luck

I would go fox or king coilover w/adjusters. And adjusters in rear. And what ever spring fits your needs. Talk to @AccuTune Offroad

You don’t say if you have a 4x4. Regardless, for fire roads a decent set of all terrain tires will be more useful than a lift.

What you describe may not need a lift at all. Just better tires.

It is a 4x4 and the lift is more a personal preference. New tires will be ordered at the same time.

Whatever you buy, make sure it has compression adjusters.
Go with a full leaf pack. The difference in ride is so drastic from a aal it’s crazy.
Don’t skip on UCAs. Huge difference too.

Why lift? Just drive the damn thing for six months until you see for yourself what you need. For logging roads and ruts, you need nothing. Now if you want it for looks, just say so.
Ground clearance is only increased by bigger diameter tires. Bigger diameter tires requires some trimming, both plastic and metal.

Of you guys think a suspension kit is for looks and doesn’t do anything for performance you’re fooling yourself

I stated it was for personal preference. Pretty clear.

It increases your approach and departure angles, nothing else. It also increases your CG which increases your rollover probability. You have something else? Besides looks? It sure as hell won't help fit bigger tires unless you only go to the mall.

Looks. Got it. Spend $200 on a spacer lift and be done with it.

Check out Ironman 4x4 stage 2 kits. Good bang for your buck and they come with upper control arms. Not to sure how they ride on the highway but I think I have my mind made up on an Ironman lift kit.

For those that are ignorant of suspension- it helps with balance. Once you can understand what I’m saying then you’ll see the benefit. I dare say it’s more important than power if you’re looking at the grand scheme of all thing upgrading.

If you would read the entire post you would recognize that I do like the lift for appearance but I also use this truck off-road daily. I train field trial dogs so I need a suspension that will hold up and be comfortable for daily use. I’m seeking a suspension upgrade that achieves those things. How about providing helpful recommendations instead.

It’s really going to come down to budget, pick a number and seek advise based on that.
