    @cartter469 er469

    I get the impression from your last post that light color might be important to you?
    Note that the H9's perform well, but your might be disappointed with the color.
    I would trim a set before investing in a harness. Yes, it's trimming a tab.

    H9's are dirt cheap. It's worth it to at least try. Stock bulbs are pathetic.

    I did H11 +130's. As I also like a little whiter light.

    Depends on your goals. If color is of paramount importance, consider Hikari Eye of Megatron or Morimoto 3.0, as they still perform better than stock, just not as well as a performance halogen or H9. Just don't buy cheap crap LEDs

    Which bulbs?
    H11 fit
    H9 fit with trimming

    note: the link by @cartter469 goes to an H1, H1 definitely does not fit

    Correct. You'll need to trim a tab, and then they'll fit nicely. Almost twice the brightness, with correct optics/pattern, and for $12 a bulb.

    I may do as you did with h11 with the bulb coating because unfortunately ill be in reno/tahoe for the next 4 -5 years at least so I'll need the bulb to put off at least some amount of heat. But your right in the fact that white light is somewhat important to me.

    you're not the first in this thread.
    someone actually bought them and then asked why they didn't fit. at least you caught it before that :)
    it's a bad search result issue for Amazon

    interestingly, I've only found them at walmart.com
    Tungsram H11 Nighthawk Xenon Halogen Bulb, 2-pack - Walmart.com - Walmart.com
    (note: Tungsram replaced GE)

    I have the GE megalight +130s and have been happy, but they seem hard to find

    Thanks for the clarification. I thought Tungsram was some Chinese version of the GE Nighthawk.

    Just did the h9 conversion with the hella bulbs not as white as the crappy beam tech I had but I can see everything, I wonder how much brighter a standard 35w hid would look

    @cartter469

    Correct- LED bulbs that have been tested so far all act like an unfocused halogen, more light lower in the beam, meaning the area directly in front of the vehicle is too bright, and less light/same amount of light near the cutoff, resulting in no significant improvement.

    Best H11 is the Tungsram H11 +120 xenon. You have linked to the *H1* not H11. The next best bulb is the Tungsram Megalight +130 H11.

    You can also achieve a very good upgrade with a Philips H9 (same bulbs as the highbeams take). You need to trim the two small tabs inside of the H9 plug base for it to plug into an H11 socket.

    Yes, you have that correct. However the H11 GE/Tungsram bulbs are sold out in that link, and Amazon is defaulting to H1 which will not fit. These are the bulbs you seek:
    https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tungsram-H11-Nighthawk-Xenon-Halogen-Bulb-2-pack/313412664

    However, while whiter than stock they are not LED white if that is what you are looking for. If looking for LED white (5500k-6000k) you are best off with the Hikari Ultras or Morimoto 2stroke 3.0s. The LEDs will not project as far as the Tungsram halogens and will have more foreground light which isn't good. No halogens will produce white similar to LED and have decent output, the majority of halogen output is yellow/warm colored, and filters only remove light to increase color temp, meaning you cannot remove light to make it whiter and still have high output.

    Looks like the +130 halogens you linked(the ones with the coating for a slightly whiter light) are sold out pretty much everywhere I could find. I guess I play the waiting game.

    I really liked the +130’s. If someone really wants mine (very lightly used, maybe 2-3h max) and has something fun to trade for or a really good sob story, hit me up.

    Why not go with the +120? I don’t believe the eye can tell the difference and both are excellent choices with the +120 slightly outperforming the +130

    Cus I prefer as "white" of a light I can get with plug and play halogen. Need it for snow melting(ill be going to school in Reno/tahoe area next 4 years)

    Understood... I just think whatever white you’re looking for won’t be found in the +130. But, I could be wrong.
    I would think with the snow you’d want to stay away from really white due to glare. Maybe a good set of DD SS3 selective yellow fogs could help?
    If white you seek, LED may be your choice?!
