brake bleed

has anyone found an effective way to bleed brakes by themselves? Im all alone in everything i do. It sucks a lot of times. especially when im trying to figure out certain issues, I cant rev and be under the truck at the same time.. or listen to things.. But, brake bleeding and hydraulic clutch bleeding is quite difficult.

 

No friends that you could enlist for an hour or so? They only need to press the brake pedal.....not real technical.

Pay with beer or a meal.

Sorry, I only know and use the 2 person method. It has never failed me.
I've tried vacuums and several gadgets......always ended using 2 people.

 

Honestly no. my good friends are all over an hour away.

 

I use this never failed me

 

When I bled the brakes on my old car myself i filled a bottle half way with fluid drilled a hole in the cap same. Size as the tubing I was using and had the tubing in the fluid so it wouldnt suck in air and I drilled a small hole. In the lid so. When u pump the brakes air wouldnt pressurized the bottle. It worked great. Gonna do the same method when I get longer rear brake lines.

 

Buy the Motive pressure bleeder. It's a "one man" operation.

 

I use speed bleeders on both my vehicles. Brake bleeding is almost as easy as changing the oil.

 

I've had this pressure bleeder for 6 years and it's the best way to go. It even puls the fluid through the ABS.

 

This is a proven method for one person. U don’t need bleeder screws, fancy automatic jugs or the like.
Just a 32oz clear plastic bottle, 3 ft of clear tubing and your set. Look on YouTube.

In the same boat as you. Motive bleeder works for me. Although, before I had the bleeder, I had cut a 2x4 to the correct length. I would pump the brakes and use the 2x4 to hold it there, while I bled the system.

 

Hi Everybody!
Its always nice to have the additional hands but when you don't....necessity is the mother of invention! I cobbled a few items together that I can use independently for TC, Rear Dif, Front Dif and Transmission
fluid drain and refill changes, as well the bleeding of the brakes without "extra hands"
All that is required are a few additional air line fitting and a shut off valve and you are ready to go...with very little investment.
