You guys must not live in Hawaii where you can work on every project your wife tells you to do with no excuse of freezing temperatures or snow or merciless sun and the thought of just dropping everything and going to the beach is literally killing you (on the inside)

Heated garages are very nice haha. I definitely limit myself in the winter time for projects. Our winter for canada this year is pretty good. Id do a TT kit here in saskatchewan! -7Cel(10-20fah)

My garage is also heated and is absolute must, as you know. To make things worst I have a DCLB and the truck fits with only a couple feet left to spare, so working in the engine bay gets pretty cramped.

That's kind of rich coming from the guy who wouldn't get to his own kit and suffered a shitshow because of it lol.

I get 4 days off per month and work anywhere from 8-16 hours every day, and pull call over half of the days I work. If I'd attempted the install myself it'd still be torn apart.

I stand by what I said. Be a man and get to shit whenever you feel like it.

I’m so glad that part of my life is over. I work 50-60 a week as the norm, but no more 6.5 days a week with no end in sight.

Yeah we basically do 12 on, 2 off if you include our non-call working days. But I was made an offer by the local military hospital, which I accepted, so I do have an end in sight lol

So far so good. Been only doing half throttle pulls so far though and it's been fine, although that's been halted because I need to resolve overboosting issues. Either too much actuator arm preload or incorrect wastegate springs, or both.

So what you're saying is that it would be a good practice for others to just be a little extra thorough, and check the wastegate springs, prior to installation. Yes?

Also, since that shop did your install, you may be on to something that they may have set to much pre-load.

Yes, I recommend checking prior to install. Especially since others had mismatched springs as well.

It is very / most likely a pre-load problem, because boost doesn't just spike it also fluctuates,..6psi, 9psi..10psi 6psi..

I'm helping him get it sorted out.

Mat has been very helpful and responsive, yes.

Tuning can resume once the overboosting has been identified and corrected, and that step is currently on me and at the mercy of my work life. Lol

Preload is super simple and easy to adjust, no? I would imagine Mat has an exact number of turns on the actuator adjustment
