It hasn’t been a rocket as much as a rollercoaster. And roller coasters never make it to space. At best, they thrill and end where they started. At worst, it goes off the tracks and 30% of the people die. Also possible you just catch the vomit of the guy in front of you, no refund, but they’ll sell you a picture to capture the moment.

I have it sitting in front of me, can’t hold it with diamond hands because they are both ready to hit the sell button

But, to the moon I guess :notsure:

I just turned on the ability to trade long call options while leaving margins turned off. Apparently as per regulation my bank just sent me the 100 page "so you want to fuck yourself financially" pamphlet.

That sobered me right up.

what kind of account is it?

an individual taxable account you’ll pay taxes on anything you sold next tax season. If you buy 100 shares and then don’t sell them ever, you won’t pay taxes until you sell them. If you bought and sold calls, that just counts as normal taxable income. Capital gains from stonks fall under short term and long term cap gains. Which I think short term is like 30% regardless of income levels. Long term falls under your normal taxable income I believe? I’d have to recheck that one.

if it’s a Roth - no taxes on gains. As long as it’s after 59.5 years old, any money have earned is tax free. So that dude on Reddit with the 50 mil calls and whatnot, if that’s in a Roth account then goobernt gets zero percent of those gains. BUT it’s not accessible until 59 1/2 unless you pay like a 25% penalty (to the goobernt).

it’s a tad bit complicated. Not overly complicated but a little. Short of it: if it’s a Roth account, no taxes. If it’s an individual taxable account, 2021 tax year, due in April 2022.

theres a strip club in the basement of a Chili’s in philly. Classy.

Also yall - coming from me I know this is weird, but keep the comments and discussions out of politics. As we get into talking about taxes, and the SEC/senators re: GME, and mutiny etc. keep the politics out of it. “That guy owns shares” is different than “that guy who I don’t like owns shares”.

I'm guessing it's just an individual account. Definitely not a Roth or any type of IRA. Just an account on Robinhood to play with some spare cash.

When you do your taxes THIS year for 2020, Plug in the gains you have thus far to get an idea of what it does...

Thanks. I'm sure it won't matter much. They're short term gains and it's only like $30 worth.

Thinking about dropping some more $$$ into AMC in the sense hoping they make it through the crisis and the entertainment business picks back up in the next months.

Orrrrrr hoping it gets highly inflated as well quicker.

    Not financial advise for myself

I'm in at $15.22 so I'm hoping it rises a little.

Ya and I’m stuck here still waiting this 4 days for approval on RH. Bs.

but I already started so I can’t go to another app because I’m already into day 3.

I wasn’t aware of other apps that I could trade dogecoin, but I have fidelity for my other new investing and I have found a couple things I wanna go long on

Anyone have any thoughts on NKLA or WKHS? Electric vehicles that could possibly be chosen to replace vehicles for the federal government. The new president said he plans on replacing all fed. owned vehicles with EVs.

I have a 2008 Sequoia Platinum. Had it for a couple years now. I only drive it for road trips, summer vacations and occasional towing. Love this big beast! It is 4wd so I have done some light off roading and snow fun.
I will sell it for a Land Cruiser or LX570 one day.

$13 here. Same. I'm debating on holding it for a few months and taking a gamble on it to rise in the future some. Not thinking about it going haywire like GME

Yeah, I'm thinking it'll be far more mellow than GME. I'm hoping to get my money out and then maybe buy back in when the price goes down. I suspect they'll go back up when more movies go back to theaters after the pandemic.

Yep. Probably won't happen but I put in a limit sell for 1000 at $0.10. If it makes it there I will pocket three times my initial input and be out nothing at all if it disappears.

I'm still kicking myself for buying AMC at $2 and selling at $4.
