Thanks for the reply! I'd like something just a little bit more clearer; this seems like the ticket. An amplifier would be nice to add to the system, but my big car stereo days are over. I'd rather not hack into the wiring on my 2021 truck to add an amp. That and my hearing never has recovered from the 4 12" subwoofers in my 1987 Oldsmobile that was my first car

Some good speakers and sub can remedy the loss of hearing, just increase the volume.:jellydance:

but I opted to get Hearing Aids

i have been thinking about doing speaker change for a while, after reading i am motivated. does anyone have the model # for the kicker tweeters?
i have the door speaker info. i am a 75 year old fart but i like to crank up my EDM music on long rides.

If you search Subaru tweeters on Amazon it will show up. Also there is a link on the third gen tread where you can get it at another place cheaper than Amazon. The kickers I just went to crutchfield.

All good, I had to roll to. I basically want to improve on the quality of the sound without having to buy an amp for the doors and dash speakers and I would get an amped sub so the can get punchier bass. I was looking at the Rockford Fosgate https://www.crutchfield.com/p_575P30010/Rockford-Fosgate-Punch-P300-10.html to install behind my back seat. I want to keep my Entune Premium for now and hopefully the head unit will have enough power to drive the doors and dash speakers. Factory speakers are almost loud enough but not quite. It's like a level 7 in volume for me. I was hoping by adding some better speakers that it would get louder too. I don't know....

Do you get any clipping without an amplifier?

Well for the money I would replace the dash tweeters and front door speakers. Skip the rear for now they don’t do much. Install a sub and go from there.

Not that I have noticed but I don’t crank the volume all the way up. All I really want to do is overcome the engine noise and enjoy the music. I just couldn’t enjoy it with the crappy factory speakers. Absolutely no clarity with the paper junk. The magnets in the oem is about 3/8” thick and the size of a quarter.

    Thanks for that info!

I will install 6.5 inch 3 way speakers in the rear doors, so my daughter can hear the bass, mids and highs too, can't leave them out of the awesome sound I am hearing up front. Wouldn't that be selfish of me, LOL!

Thanks man, the OEM Audio + was a little pricey for $1500 (includes 6 speakers, subwoofer and 360 Watt amp and all wire/plug & play), and took me about 6-8 hours taking my time...but Dan the OEM guy was extremely helpful...

so when i used to be on the highway with the factory HU, i had to turn the volume up to around 25-40 to hear it, now with this system, i turn it up to 10 depending on the recording, it is loud at 20, probably about a 50-60% increase. The single best mod i did to my truck other than go up to 265-75-16 tires from the factory 245's. I also put stick on insulation inside the doors while i had the interior panels off..

That is pretty impressive that increase on sound quality and volume, Baaaaaaa Boooooom!

Hmmmm, you installed stick on sound deadening mat inside of the doors behind the speakers?
    Do you think that helped?

Did you have the non JBL system in your truck?

Do you think the OEM Audio products sound better than the factory JBL sound system?
I had the JBL in my 2009 Tacoma and I thought it sounded great.

Sorry for all of the questions :)

no worries, here to help, i had the NON JBL system but the premium entune HU. i definitely think the insulation helped, i put either Dynamat or kilmat, can't remember? all on the outer shell of all 4 doors where i could reach and i truly believed it helped even though OEM Audio + made the system for the tacoma w/o the sound deadening material. as far as how the JBl system sounds?, i have no idea since i don't have that...hope it helps, keep them ?'s coming if you need to?, understand its alot of money but i am very happy with it..
