Loved everything about the area, including DC but Mid Missouri is wonderful. I'm in a town of 2,600, 2 traffic lights and a 9 hole golf course. I'm in heaven already. LOL

started my tax return. shouldnt have. fed refund, pay state, in the end i get a whopping $130 back
oh, and H&R wants $95 to file everything so I guess that brings my refund back down to $35.
I'll take a closer look and see if I missed something. And H&R always sends me deals once I've left my refund unfinished so let's see how low they'll drop their prices.

I've used TacAct for the last decade and it's free. ($4.95 for direct deposit) If you're itemizing deductions, different story. I always had someone do it for me. Not any more. Downsized.

I've used H & R for several years. They change their prices every year though. Last year it was free. Year before fed was free but state cost 30 or something. Doesn't make any sense. I know they'll start sending me offers in my email so I'll just wait for a good one and wrap things up then.

When sis died, thankfully there was a good will store up the hill from her place. I donated a lot of stuff, too.

How about Atlanta at rush hour on a friday evening?? :burnrubber: With the OB, set the cruise to follow the car in front and just go... UUGGHH

    So sorry to hear this.....

that's about what I paid last year. Only reason I can't do the free file, is I get a couple of $$ in interest, so end up paying more to file, than I make in interest

Must be nice to get to do the free one....

I have a health savings account which is pretax money. i love that i have that tucked away and that i'm getting to use 100% of it without paying taxes but the extra forms and all the hoops you have to jump through at tax time....ugh... I could do a free file if it wasn't for that

    Sorry.

Mom is 95, I haven't been able to see her for 2 months and she barley remembered me last time.
3 people died of covid and one more tested positive in the last month. 2 workers are quarantined.

my kind of place ! our area has grown over the years. we live in farmland. the little community has a fire/rescue building and a 16x16 post office that is open 8-noon. im from 45 minutes west in Highland Co. its the least populated county in the state.honest to gosh only one flashing light in the whole county. biggest thing out there is the Maple Festival for 2 weekends in March.big money maker for ruritians and the school out there.
