2000 3.4L V6 4WD will not rev past 2000 RPM no CEL.. HELP

The engine was idling for about 10 minutes before I took those readings. I assume I am in closed loop from my limited understanding of it but is there something to tell me for sure if I'm in a closed loop state?

 

I believe your MAF is faulty... as a general rule for 90% of the vehicles out there that use a MAF, the grams per second of fuel should be equal to the engine displacement in liters at idle. So you 3.4 should have apx a 3 ish grams per second of fuel... yours starts and stays @ 7.7 ish

 

I looked again at the video - it said open loop (fuel status).

The plot thickens. You should definitely been in closed loop after 10 mins.

 

I don't think we have fuel flow meters in these trucks do we? Pretty sure its calculated in the app, so its probably wrong.

I'm not even sure where you;re seeing that. I see MAF in g/s around 20-30 when he floors it... if AFR is 14.7:1 then that should be about 1.4-2.0g/s of fuel

This said, let me check whats normal on mine.

 

60 - 170 CFM ~= 35-98g/s

So it seems that you have a restriction, or a bad MAF like the guy above said.

Since you're stuck in open loop anyway, take your cat off and unplug your O2 sensors. Rule that out, then buy a new MAF.

 

I'm no expert by any means but my son had this issue after wiring up stereo with amp, winch and light bar. Seemed to be to much of a draw on the system. He disconnected everything and issue went away.

And oh, you'll want to make sure to clear your battery once you plug the O2 sensors back in for reasons complicated.

 

I disconnected the cat and the front 02 sensor. It continued to have trouble around the 2000 rpm so my next move tomorrow is a MAF sensor.
